Ok This is one of the popular most scams in cyber crimes, let me expain you the step by step procedure, on how it works
1) You can an e-mail about UK Lottery that you have won a huge amount in pounds something like 500,000 GBP.
2) The reason they say that you got the e-mail is because your mail address have been randomly selected.
3) After you reply them once they will send you and application form and will ask you for the address and account information of yours to send you the money. This makes you believe they are genuine
4) After this process, they ask you for small fee of insurance as taxed you need to pay to get your amount. This fee can be anywhere between USD 65 - USD 1500.
5) Mode of sending them money they always want is through Western Union.
6) Once you send them the requested amount, you will never see them again. They disappeared like huming birds.
I dont' know why people don't use their brain and get into this, think about this
1) Do you think you are that lucky that you can win a lottery on 500,000 which you have never purchased any ticket.
2) The money you are getting is from UK lottery and the taxes and insurance you are sending is in Nigeria, isn't that stupid
3) Do you think it will cost just USD 100 for taxes and insurance for a big amount like 500,000 pounds
These scams work just because people are getting greedy day by day.
Anyways i wish everyone good luck for their future who have already been ripped by this scam...
Good Luck to you as welll

Or they will demand that you send money for taxes and fees. They demand it to be sent by Western Union. Western Union transfers are virtually untraceable since they can actually be collected at virtually ANY Western Union office in the world, regardless of the recipients stated address. Once you send the money, it's the last you'll ever hear of them.

They send you a check often from a bank in Nigeria. You deposit it and then send them a fee or whatever from the check. Their check bounces, your check clears and you are out whatever the amount is. Many variations on same theme, overpayment by bad check you issue refund your check is good
