If the demo version of Illustrator won't do for you, there is a free open source drawing program called inkscape that I'm told is quite good.

You can download it from www.adobe.com, but it's a trial version and it will expire after 30 days.

Otherwise, you can download it from BitTorrent, but keep in mind that it's not legal and it may contain spyware or even viruses that can damage your computer. Sometimes you find good stuff, though.
