We bought a clear cup and glued picture of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle on the bottom of it for my son when he was little. He didn't throw a tantrum but it was how we got him to drink it before it got warm. He had to find MichaelAngelo. It was a game to him and an ease for us.
Sometimes adding carnation instant breakfast or something to flavor it that is healthy helps. Put it in a smaller cup or let him pick out a cup he likes at the store that he will call HIS. Little tricks of the trade.

sadly you can't. My son is 7 and has never drunk milk. He gets his calcium from yogurt and cheese and he has 1 cup of milk on his vita brix which soak up all the milk so he can't taste it (and it must be warmed up, even it is a boiling hot day it must be eaten hot...weird kid) give up forcing it. Would you drink something you detest?
I just had a look at the other answers. I can't believe all the people saying flavour the milk, do they want their childrens teeth to rot and be overweight? Don't start this...please for your child sake

persistent time-outs for the tantrums with a designated time out chair. make him drink a swallow of milk before he gets anything else to drink or before a treat. pair it up with cookies or ice cream-something that will enhance the taste of milk. Maybe try soymilk or powdered milk.

Why would you force him to drink milk? Milk is not the greatest thing to drink although the dairy industry wants you to think so. If you are worried about calcium, there are many juices that have it added (OJ and apple juice) and they have as much calcium as a glass of milk.

Don't force the issue. Just make sure that there are only the 2 options, milk and water. He'll prefer the milk.

Make it chocolate milk! Or Raspberry! Something to make it taste better.
I personally don't like it. You can't force somebody who doesn't like milk to drink it.
If you are concerned about the lack of calcium. There is plenty of other things to go for.

Milk -- the perfect food... for baby cows.
Kids don't need cows milk. It's probably not good for them, and he/she probably doesn't want it for a good reason.
I don't think it is good to force kids to eat food that might increase their chance of making them fat and decay their teeth (like dairy products and sugary chocolate like people are recommending).
Read this: "Dr. Michael Taylor, a Chiropractic Physician, doctoral candidate to become a Doctor of Nutrition and fellow of the American Academy of Orthomolecular Medicine, agrees, stating, "It is a dietary error to cross species to get milk from another animal." He notes there is a tremendous difference between human babies and baby calves, and a corresponding difference between the milk that is intended to nourish human babies and baby calves. In an interview on "Let's Eat," a Seventh-day Adventist television program, Dr. Taylor notes that human infants take about 180 days to double their birth weight, and that human milk is 5 to 7 percent protein. Calves require only 45 days to double their birth weight and cow's milk is 15 percent protein. The primary type of protein in cow's milk is casein. Why do Americans suffer from obesity and hyperactive children? Maybe something to do with their diet? I don't think it is good to force unhealthy food on a child. Look at what professional athletes eat -- they know how to eat cleanly. Brown rice, whole grains, legumes, fresh fruits and vegetables. You get all the vitamins you need from that kind of diet. Avoid processed food (like drink mixes). Don't overdo the meat and grease, sugar, etc.

If they don't like milk, why would you force a child to drink it.
I always told mine, you have to taste something one time to decide if you like it, and if you don't, you won't have to eat or drink it again.
If they like choc. milk, that's the only other option, but not too much choc.
I'd be careful with the strawberry unless you are sure your child has not allergies to it. Strawberry allergies are very common and very dangerous.

play a game thats what i do! If they are very competative like my little brother then make it a race! Egg him on. Like IM BEATING YOU! and other stuff like that . They will soon lose that thought that they hate milk and the thought of winning..well.wins. Make sure that it is a "close" race cause then they will remeber that bad feeling of losing and never want to play again.

If the child just does not like milk, it can be a problem. You could try and buy him flavored pediasure and give him a glass of that a day.
