i recently started coloring in photoshop and i hear alot of stuff about tablets. could someone tell me what a table is? and are they free, or do you pay for them?

If you're speaking of a tablet PC it's like a laptop kind of but sometimes called a convertible notebook. Typically you can swivel the top around so it closes with the screen facing out and use it like a notebook with a light pen to write on it.

A tablet is an input device. A large model looks like a drafting table, and a smaller one look like a touch panel. You have a stylus and you draw on it.

Basically, every time you touch a tablet with a stylus, it inputs a coordinate. An electronic drawing pad is pretty much it.

A tablet PC is a small computer, like a laptop, that only consists of a a touch-screen and stylus. They are great for art because you can draw on the screen with the stlylus and they are portable, like a laptop.

right now im using a tablet pc (tecra-m4), i use a pen that have a special tip, and my screen have sensors for it, so i can freely draw/ us it as a mouse, but if your asking about just a tablet, not a tablet pc, you can google "WACOM" thats the major company that deals with tablets and they have the best quality as far as i know,.. now a tablet is just like a mouse pad, but your using a special pen and the special pad for it,.. it's kinda hard to explain.. you can just go to WACOM's website if you really wanna find out
