Of course, the answer is because the Bible said so (well, God killed all creatures not on the ark).
Is there a creationist in existence who even knows what a plesiosaur, mosasaur, ichthyosaur or pterosaur is?
Why challenge your beliefs by climbing out of your pit of ignorance.

Well, not all of them did. There is the tale of Beowulf fighting a dragon that sounds very much like a Pterodactyl. The pterodactyl had a bone structure behind its head that very well might have emitted a firy substance much like a bombardier beetle, and would have well fit the description of the "dragon" described. As for the prehistoric sea creatures, Nessie? One thing to keep in mind is that if everything pre-flood was much more idyllic, everything would have grown much larger. With much higher oxygen content (as indicated by amber samples), and apparently much longer lifespans (if the Bible is to be believed, and I believe it is), animals may well have grown much larger in size. Most reptiles do not stop growing for as long as they live. Many of the larger animals would have had more trouble finding food after the flood, but nonetheless, I think they did survive for quite some time. With a harsher climate, man hunting them, and much less food, many of them died out. Others of them just have much smaller counterparts. There is a small lizard today that looks absolutely 100% identical to the eye to a t-rex, but stands only 1-2 feet tall. There are also many yet to be discovered creatures in remote parts of the world, and in the seas.

Wow! I love this question! I assume you mean the Biblical flood. I've always been interested in paleontology because dinosaurs don't fit with the Bible, right? Yah, they do. Actually, someone has done some study and caculations for the Arc, and it would fit all the animals in the numbers that God instructed including all our dinosaur buddies. Not only that, but also counted in food supplies and waste on the ship. There is a book about it all (not that it's well know or common, our evolution scientist buddies wouldn't want that to refute their ideas). Also, there are various places in the Old Testament that refer to big creatures or monsters. And not all the aquadic dinosaurs are dead. There is a fish on display at the Thermopolis(WY) Dinosaur muesum that was believed to have gone extict with the rest thousands of years ago that was recently found alive by fishermen in the Southern Hemisphere.

they perished but not from flood. The best assumption is that an asteroid hit the Earth about 60 million years ago, and one of the results where years of darken sky - which interfere with photosynthesis of the plankton which is the basis of the entire food chain in the sea; No food - no large creatures. Smaller ones can survive on less food.

dont really know what flood your talking about, but as for flooding the sea creatures may could like sea water or freshwater and the other in larges amount of flooding could've killed them, some points would be higher than others and they couldve been beached.flying reptiles would have no where to land and rest-fall out of the sky and get gobbled up or drown.

A better question might be how did any water based creature survive at all. If the flood water was fresh, the salt water critters would have died. If the water was briny, the fresh water critters would have died. If it was in between, they all would have died.
Plus, how did the fresh water critters find their way back to fresh water when it was done? Were they just swimming around in circles abouve the future lakes and rivers waiting for the water to recede so they would drop into place?

65 million years ago an asteroid hi the earth somewhere off the coast of Central America, causing something like nuclear winter. Dinosaurs perished soon afterward.

Honey, who preaches you this nonsense? Dinosaur did not perish in the flood. They were wiped out by the Intergalactic Moronic Empire using death-ray and super molten meteorite. Some survive to present day. (Check Loch Ness.)
If you can believe that nonsenses that leads you to ask this question, you will have no trouble believing my idiotic answer......lol.
