Men who are using God for selfish interests are called cheaters. That is the technical definition. One has to have a little intelligence to find out who is a cheater and who is not. A pure devotee is not interested in selfish life at all. The Vedic injunction is one cannot preach God unless one "voluntarily" becomes a mendicant. He accepts only what is necessary to keep his body fit. Externally you may see him as opulent but internally he considers himself a mendicant, he follows a very strict life. He is strict to himself but liberal to others.
But before that let us ask the questions.
Why am I suffering in this world?
What is the aim of life? What is the purpose of human life?
Why I want to be independent?
Why I am lonely?
Such enquiries are important? There are devotees in the Hare Krishna who have great realizations to such questions.
So to get answers to the questions one can approach realized persons.
Actually there are three classes of people.
The neophytes: They go to the temple ring the bell spend a minute, they are oblivious to others and the other things happening in the temple. Their only business is to go there to ring the bell, spend a minute and come out and get back into their own personal life.
The madhyam stage, the intermediatory: They also go to the temple but they are interested to meet men of transcendental knowledge. They attend discourses, talk to people of transcendental knowledge, ask questions. They go to learn the science of God. They associate with other devotees. When they come out they talk about the science of God whenever there is an opportunity.
The next stage is Uttama: They have passed the first two stages. They have realized God. And now have decided to spread the science of God. They want to help the suffering conditioned people. Not philanthropic work, but giving the actual medicine that is to give God consciousness. Such a devotee is very dear to God and not the pretender who maintains himself at the cost of others.

God's plan makes so much sense that no human has been able to put it in the correct context. It's beautiful and without it I would want to be dead.I can't hardly wait. But you are why I am still here.John 3:16,For God so loved,so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish but have everlasting life!!God does exist,I prayed one morning and ask God to let me feel his spirit that day.I went to church and forgot what I had prayed, and just as the choir sang the last words of the last song the love of God flowed into me.I cannot describe the feeling,I wanted that! You could have pushed me down with your little finger or lifted me into the air.I could not speak for two hours.I wanted to fly to him.And the whole time I could see him smiling and telling me,you see .The flesh is incapable of containing my love.God is real and if you don't believe it then you are just egotistical.God Bless You!!!

If people have created God, why do they use his name in case of danger. People who are in dire straits, or stressed, use God's name. There are no selfish interests to serve; can you give me any? Then again there are, because the buddists make up all kinds of gods, but the question is... are they real?
The governments don't say they are God. People believe in God regardless of being athiests or they wouldn't use his name or the term god.

It doesn't matter "what they think" God and Christ both recognize that "few are the ones finding the path" and it is only with an open heart that they can. So why push and hope, if their hearts are open to the good news, it will be told to them. If they are not of a lamb-like dispostion, then god himself will weed them out. The best you can do is to set a good example for them in your life and hope it is enough.

I will give you the benefit of assuming English is not your native language and thank you for trying.
I am one who thinks there is no god, but I don't think the idea was invented per se. I think it evolved in the way myths typicaly evolve. In the end, religion becomes a tool to control the masses, but that isn't how it started.

Me... I think there is no God, but I have no proof either way (i.e., I'm Agnostic). I do believe that man created God (all the various Gods out there) so he wouldn't feel alone and so he would feel there is purpose to life.
My purpose in life is taking care of my child and my fellow human beings.

I never met any evidence of God or even reasonably clear explanation of what it is. How I am supposed to check a speculation if it even never had been clearly presented?

I know that God exist. I also know that the Devil exist. I know my faith is in God and all that is Good.
I know because I have seen many miracles of God and have been blessed by him.
