It is cool that you are considering what your parents think here. Your reasons for wanting to move out sound good, so what I think would be a good approach would be to sit down with your parents and tell them these reasons... and show them that you could be responsible on your own. If you have a great plan, hopefully they will see that, but they will need to see that you have thought it through. Tell them where you would be living, how you would be able to afford your living space, and what the benefits would be of you moving there (getting school done, spending time with friends). If they see that you have a great plan and you aren't just casually saying that you want to move, I don't think they would feel like you were stabbing them in the back at all.

I think the question is really are you READY to move out? Can you afford to totally make it on your own? To pay for your rent, gas, food, bills, other car costs, insurances, any classes you take, cell phone, probably internet service, and so on... I hear CT is also sort of an expensive state.
Be sure you are totally ready and prepared and able to make it on your own before you decide to go through with it. And if and when you ARE ready and your parents are confident you can be okay, unless they are clingy they will probably support you in it. At that point they will probably feel pride, not hurt feelings.

giving you the car is probably to help you move out. if you don't have a car you would have to rely on them for a ride even tho you have a license. and if you had to buy your own car it is more time that you would have to spend waiting for the money earned to get a car so i personally think that it is a way to help you get out on your own and be more independent but at the same time still being a parent and watching out for you b/c im guessing they bought you a new car or lightly used one b/c they know it would be reliable where if you were to have to save up and buy your own you would not have enough money to get a good one or be able to finance one due to the face that you have little or no credit

My advice - figure out a plan on moving back - where you will live, work, etc. Get all your facts and figures together, and then sit down with your parents to discuss it - don't present it as a "I am doing this and you can't stop me" but as a "I want to do this, this is what I have worked out and I really need your advice and support to make this work." Listen to what they have to say, and adjust your plans based on their advise. Don't be afraid to compromise - they have experiences to draw you don't, and they can be your best ally in doing this.

Do your parents know you want to move? Talk to them. Tell them how much Connecticut means to you. It's a bit of a drive i'm sure, but you can still visit them pretty easily, right?.
Good luck! You seem like a good son, they should understand.

no, there's no stabbing of backs involved.
they will be sad to see you go, of course, but I think they have understood for a while that one day you would want to make your own plans.
