The answer is so easy, but you will simply not believe how easy it is.
Just be yourself, do not try to act like someone else just to please people. People can tell when someone is not being themselves, and usually find it uncomfortable, and do not want to be around that person.
By being yourself in the future you will draw the attention of people that have the same interest that you do and that really want to be around you.
Do not be harsh on yourself, you are most likely a wonderful person that everyone would live to be around, when you just become yourself and stop playing roles.

Proper manner is subjective...You must keep relationships honest and real. Honesty and true feelings in the only thing that bonds people together.

Get involved with people that have the same interests, and whetever you do, don't buy into any drama. Just be loyal and a good listener. That is all anyone can expect. My ex-best friend of 13 years told me not to come around anymore because his psycho girlfriend don't like me. Opened my eyes. 13 years of helping him deal with 3 destructive marriages, wasted. Choose your friends wisely.

Get a great job and make a ton of money. Then buy your friends like I do. This way I'm never disappointed when they take a hike because there is always plenty more where they came from.
