Sounds bad.
Could be just bad or REALLY bad.
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease
A lot depends on your age. If you're between the age of 16 and 25 (give or take a few years on either end) it could be something called Crohn's disease, which is an autoimmune disease affecting the mucosa of the gastrointestinal tract. In plain English that means a condition where your body attacks the lining of its own intestines (sometimes even the esophagus and stomach as well).
Another inflammatory bowel disease, somewhat similar to Crohn's disease but only affects the large intestines is Ulcerative Colitis (UC). Both Crohn's disease and UC can result in passing blood and clear mucous when you use the bathroom. They also can cause abdominal pains, diarrhea, and a myriad of other symptoms.
Of the two, I'd rather have Ulcerative Colitis. At least it can be cured by taking out the colon. Crohn's can't be cured, only controlled by medications.
Go see your doc. He'll most likely do a few tests, including possibly a colonoscopy if he suspects inflammatory bowel disease.
- Hemorrhoids
Sometimes hemorrhoids can get so bad that they mess up the architecture of the anus, resulting in leakage of mucous and blood. Everyone has hemorrhoids, and in fact they act like a sort of gasget to keep you leaking mucous. Unfortunately, when they get too big they can cause the anus to stay open and leak mucous. When they're that big they can also bleed.
- Infection
Some infections, especially Clostridium difficile can cause something called pseudomembranous colitis. This is an overgrowth of a particularly nasty bacteria that takes advantage of a colon that has recently been cleaned out by antibiotics. With no competition, the C. difficile grows as quick as a bunch of weeds. So, if you've taken a round of antibiotics recently, you may have Clostridium difficile infection.
- Cancer
There are some tumors that can produce a lot of mucous. If you're a bit older (over 45) you could have colon cancer (though I've seen it in someone who was 19!). This is easy to rule out with a simple colonoscopy, which is well worth the peace of mind if you ask me.
I have to agree with most of the others who answered. This is most likely something you don't want to ignore. Get thee to a doctor, preferably your primary care manager first. From there, most likely to a gastrointerologist.
Good luck.

That can be a sign of Hemaroids, IBS (irratable bowel syndrome, Colitis, Crohn's Disease, and/or Colon Cancer. None are particularly pleasant, but the last two can kill you if you wait.
See a doctor. Most likely it's nothing, but it's nothing to fool around with and wait on. Not doing anything about finding out what is causing it is worse than finding out what it is.

My kitten was diagnosed with gastritis two months ago, and was also throwing up clear liquid/mucus which was water she had drank from being dehydrated, lying down and growling if anyone touched her. Because of this, she became dehydrated and this caused her to be weak and wobbly. Anything can cause gastritis. If your cat wont keep anything down, please do not wait to get her to a vet as dehydration can set in quickly.

First and foremost relax; and stop getting scared. Hemorroids, fissures or whatever else it is, know first that every medical problem these days has a problem. Go to a surgeon immediately; who will advice on the future course of action

The best thing to do is collect a sample of your feces and take it to the doctor with you. Visit a doctor immediately

Geez, go to the doctor.
It could be as simple as hemorrhoids, as severe as colon cancer. and anything inbetween.
Only your doctor can tell you the right answer - and when my mother was 32 she had colon cancer, so you know what, don't waste your time here.
