kitten keeps trying to eat my hair ?

Question

8 week old kitten keeps trying to eat my hair when i sleep.
and when im not sleep shes on my shoulder trying to sleep on my head !

is it normal i never had a kitten.
oh and when im sleep she atacks my toes under the cover.

i heard shes some kind of breed that dosnt out grow the playfull stage.

lol....shes a kitten so shes gonna get into everything...when she plays with ur toes and chews ur hair....shes playing and probably teething....it is very normal....she is comfortable and probably feels safe when she sleeps on ur head or shoulder......dont worry its normal.....i love cats and have millions of kittens and cats myself....have fun with ur new kitten and if u have anymore questions about ur cat and want an honest answer....email me

I too have a 8 week old male kitten who likes to eat my hair. That is normal behavior. Your kitty will out grow that. The reason why you kitty sleeps on your head is because that is the warmest part of your body. Also, attacking your toes..well that is kitten play,. they love to pounce on just about anything. What breed is your kitty?
As your kitty gets older she/he will lose the hair eating and less play. Next time you take your kitty to the Vet for annual shots, ask him about it.

I don't know why cats like hair, something about the smell or taste. My kitten did the same, and now as a full grown cat, he still has an unhealthy addiction to hair. Luckily my hair is now out of the question for him, so he predates on the hair of visitors I bring over now. I guess he built up a tolerance to my hair.

Congratulations on your new kitty. As a cat lover, I have had many cats over the years, and have had many kittens nest in my hair, so to speak. I believe since your kitten is so young, she misses her momma. Your hair is warm, and "furlike" , like momma... She may even be rooting around to see if you have milk somewhere in there. As far as attacking your toes, that is just a playful gesture, although when you are trying to sleep , it drives you nuts. She will grow out of that, but I still have an adult cat that decides to love on me when I am asleep. He rubs his nose all over me as I am probably snoring, waking me up. Enjoy your kitten!

my cat did that too, i just take her off my hair and say a stern no.

well your moving at night and moving your toes it's a nice game for her.
my best advice: use a thicker blanket, close the bedroom door, or bring her a friend at the same age as she is. they will play together and she will leave your hair and toes alone.

cats like high places that's why she liked sitting on your shoulder, enjoy it while it lasts cause most them outgrow it as they grow older.

Cats do all kinds of strange stuff. They're unique like that. My cat sits up on my shoulder and hangs down my back, the way a ferret does. I couldn't tell ya why, she's just a cat.

Kittens and cats just like hair, and string, and bouncy balls, your cat is just playing, it doesnt mean shes starving or anything so dont worry, as long as they dont swallow the hair they'll be fine =)

Totally normal...she's not trying to eat your hair she is simulating nursing...it's a comfort thing. She may not grow out of that.

i had a cat for 9 years and he ate my hair and slept on my pillow every night until i had to get rid of him and now hes with my friend and he does the same with him.....he was a taby.....your kitty is fine and some cats are just more fun than others.....enjoy your kitty!.... :)
