Illegal drug use, and overabuse of legal substances like alcohol and tobbaco, are for people either seeking misery by a painful lifelong battle with addiction or death by the very hand of the illegal drug (and by alcohol and/or tobbaco).

Illegal drugs can also wind you in prison--where you sit in huge cage and watch life go by. Sounds fun doesn't it? For losers, I'd say it probably does.

LOOSERS and those on their way to being LOOSERS use drugs. They'll wreck your life and ruin your relationships.

Drugs will limit your motivation and ability to succeed in life.

It's not cool to use drugs. It's stupid.

Get high on life, not drugs.

used to use a whole bunch of them then I got pregnant, and my daughter is more important than drugs were ever to me. I would rather be her mommy then a drug user.

You could not think of anything else to ask besides this question. drugs get you into trouble and put you in jail or in rehab

No drugs here, things are surreal enough without them; and druggies smell bad and steal stuff (among other nasty things).

I don't do drugs. They're unhealthy and lead to your death directly or indirectly. My brother thought it was cool to smoke pot when he was a teen. He was kicked out of the house by my parents when he began stealing from them and started bringing the drugs into the house with my sister and I living there (we were 8 and 9). When he left, he moved across several states (from NC to NY) and lived on the streets where he robbed people and moved on to heroin. At this time, he was stabbed twice and nearly died. We knew nothing about this at that time.

He moved to DC and started burglarizing homes to support his drug use. After about 15 years of living on the streets and using drugs, he decided to change his life. He got a job and got a nice place to live and was, for the first time in his adult life, happy. He lived this way, being productive, for 3 years.

His "friend" with whom he had stolen from people was arrested and named my brother in a plea deal. My brother was arrested and convicted for over 300 counts of burglary. He went to prison in Richmond, VA.

It was there that it was discovered that he had AIDS. God knows where he got the disease. Many years of unprotected sex, IV drug use, transfusions from stabbings...we just don't know. I believe it was his drug use. We learned on Thanksgiving 1993 that he was ill. He wasn't expected to live through the night and we all went to VA to be with him. His fever of 105+ broke that night and he was ok. He went back to prison after his hospitalization. On February 7, 1994 (the day before my mother's birthday), he died alone in prison.

My parents have NEVER been the same. I couldn't go to his grave after his funeral for about 10 years. Its only been in the past couple of years that I have been able to go. It was just too difficult for me. The most difficult part wasn't the actual death, although he had gone from a very healthy 180 lbs to about 105 in 10 months. The most difficult part of his death is that I feel robbed. I feel that he robbed me of being able to spend time with him. Drugs kept him from his family. Drugs compelled him to rob people. Drugs landed him in prison. And drugs finally killed him. He died in prison without pain medication although he was in excruciating pain. He refused all pain medication because he said he wanted to die clean. I am, to this day, awed by his bravery in that moment.

Drugs will kill you. Don't use them. Use this story to get yourself clean.
