Sure, cats like other cats. They're like humans, they pick & choose their friends and enemies.

Despite the reputation for being independent, the domestic cat is the most social species of cat after the Lion. Their whole social structure is almost identical to that of the Lion. Females hunt. Males are testicles that sleep all day and mate with queens in heat. Kittens are raised in nurseries run by several queens. Queens will even suckle other cat's kittens while their moms go and hunt! It's quite fascinating :-) . If a new tom takes over as head cat, he will go and kill the kittens sired by the old tom. Lions have been witnessed doing this same thing. Apparently it insures that the new Tom's genes are the dominant ones that take over among the kittens.

Cats are normally solitary, however if they can be "conditioned" to be social as in a situation where a person has more than one cat. But in the wild or "stray" cats are mostly solitary. A food source howvever can bring cats to tolerate one another.

It depends on the cat's personality and what they have been exposed too. Some are and some aren't. Though even the more social cats will never be a dog.

It all depends, it usually depends on age, well, my young cat once before was being attacked by another cat and my older cat stuck up for my little cat, both my cats sometimes get into brawls but I think of it as brother and sister disagreements!

Cats are picky about who the like. I got two kittens to keep my precious cat company when her brother got hit by a car, and she didn't like either of them. Unfortunately, she got hit by a car a year later. It broke my heart to lose those two wonderful cats. They were part Persian, and had sweet personalities. Now I'm stuck with the two "company" cats. they don't get along well with each other, being brothers, they fight and argue. However, one of them has made friends with the neighbor's cat. It just goes to show that cats are particular about who they choose as friends.

Depends on the cat. My female cat hates my male cat, but he loves her. Go figure.

Cats like the company of other cats. If you have only one cat it could become neurotic and destructive. Get him a friend.
