If you look at my bio you'll see that I'm a teacher. Let me say that in my experience I have been in the shoes of your teacher. Needless to say it was very flattering, but honesty and integrity and professionalism dictate that nothing other than a teacher-student relationship exist.
I don't know about your teacher, but in my case I'm married and I love my wife very much. I'd never jeopardize our relationship with a student.
Enjoy your teacher, learn from him (or her), cherish your time in the classroom, but remember if he ever reciprocates if you make your feelings known, then he may be a good teacher, but he's not much of a human being.

I'd say this is a conflict of interests, but it probably wouldn't be good for him to have the publicity of having a relationship with a student. Perhaps later in your life when you've graduated or are farther in school, but I'd say not now. It is probably advisable to quench your feelings/desires for the mean time. After you are no longer his student and have further advanced in your studies then possibly tell him. If he's married, leave him alone. But hey, at least your an adult and not underage!

This is more common then you think and is not something to be ashamed of. People in a position of responsibility and power do seem to able to portray an aura to some people. However, I would advise you do not become serious and possibly aim for someone closer to your own age. But you should deal with your feelings and understand your position and grow out of the love.

I believe it is a crush and that you admire him and hope to find someone with his qualities one day. Age differences are difficult and student/teacher relationships can get messy. Feel good that you are lucky to have such a good experience with this teacher and hunt someone like him in your age category.

Don't act on it. It is normal to have a crush on a teacher. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Give it time. It'll pass.
