Is it wrong to stop evil? How about Hitler, or Pol Pot? Should anyone have tried to kill them earlier to stop what they did? How about terrorists?

War is bad. I don't understand your logic about Israel, but the reason they are going to war is because they believe they are defending their land. The fact is the people they are fighting against believe the exact same thing. Israel has been duped by people in power into believing that the land they currently occupy is theirs because "God gave it to them." Sort of immature, don't you think? Reminds me of when the white men came to the Americas and took the land of the natives because they were just "Godless savages." God is used as the reason for nearly all wars.

Well it all depends on who you ask. Back in the day when the Romans were still big on the block they went to war to pay off their soldiers and reward them with plots of land that they'd conquered. Israel is going to war because they feel that Lebanon is rightfully theirs.
So war isn't bad at all but its just the after math of war that's bad because their is always someone on the crap end of the stick.

No no no no no. You are fighting for your rights, freedom, people, family, and what you believe in. There's nothing wrong with that at all. But sometimes people go to war for the wrong reasons, but other times it's for the right reasons. Like for instance, people are being corrupted and slaughtered by an egomaniacal dictator, Hitler and Saddaam Husain for example, and need help, or you were attacked and you're defending yourself.

War is bad! It doesn't matter which side you are on, it's just plain primative, and it will be the downfall for Israel and the United States!

good question. i suspect that there are circumstances when it is bad, and some when it is not exactly good, but the best of poor choices. Fundamentally, war results when other options break down or don't get chosen.
israel is going to war to defend itself... but this is complicated by the fact that in the eyes of some, it has done things to provoke attack.
Think of small boys arguing to mommy about "he hit me first" and you will get the picture.
Here is hoping that both sides get tired of acting out like children and get back to the negotiating table.

Wars can be fought for two basic reasons: to opress (or commit genocide on) a group of people, or to liberate (or protect) them. Israel is trying to protect itself from multiple groups that have never acknowledged her right to exist.

... Israel is at war for the same reason the USA is .. . to stop terrorism.
bombing to stop bombs is like shopping on credit to prevent debt.
