You might start out by just talking to her is a casual way and see where it leads. If she seems intrested in you she will give you signals like being attentive to what you say and candid about herself. It he signals are good invite her out for a coffee without making a big formal date. If everything goes well pop the big question.

Hey that's the whole part of asking someone on a date. Not know the outcome. But that doesn't mean don't ask her, because if you don't than you'll never know. At least if you do you won't have to ponder what if i asked her out and she said yes.
