I've had a problem with spelling for as long as I can remember. I don't think much about it other then working extra hard at ensuring I spell things correctly. However one of my co-workers remarked they thought I might have dyslexia.
How though does an ADULT who is not enrolled in college go about getting tested for dyslexia?

There's a free test for dyslexia:

However, if you want a private assessment you should seek out a psychologist.

There are special eye doctors, i forget their name, call first. By the way, do you notice if you skip lines when you read, like read half a line then continue on the next one then go back to the initial one? Is your misspelling "creative", meaning you don't misspell the same way? Those are symptoms of dyslexia.

If you have insurance, ask your doctor about it.
If not but you live near a large university, you could try calling the psychology department to see if they have any community based testing services.
