It seems when I try to go to sleep at night I can't. I usually lay in bed, tossing and turning and don't find myself falling asleep until around 3-4 AM... then waking up at 1 PM the next day..

what can I do to help solve this? I often find myself trying to tire myself out to go to bed earlier, and it doesn't work. Or ill lay down at around 10-11 PM..

Ambian will help you fall right asleep.
If you sleep walk I don't recommend this. It works practically instantly.
Best to take with one foot under the covers already.

I took it before going upstairs to bed and I would finish a half gallon of Ice-cream and When I saw it was gone I had to remember that I was the one who ate it.

Melatonin 3mg This is a natural supplement. It works.
Warm Milk has triptophan. Helps you sleep.
Minerals also help you relax and fall asleep.
A warm bath with epson salts helps. Epson Salts has magnesium

I also go to bed at 2 or 3 AM I just get involved on the computer and time flies.

Exercise early in the day It will help you sleep at night. Exercise within 3 hours may rev you up and give you a burst of energy and could keep you awake..

If you work around that schedule, it's not a problem. If you need to maintain a more normal schedule, try altering it slowly.

Wake up at 12:30 the next day, 12, then 11:30 etc.

Or, try it all the way, no matter what time you fall asleep wake up at 7AM or 8AM and then you'll be tired earlier that day.

If you're comfortable taking medicine to help you sleep, try that. If you're not comfortable taking a medicine, try drinking warm milk or herbal teas. Try to avoid caffeine before you go to sleep, and whatever you do, stop laying in bed all night. Get out of bed and read a book or watch a movie.

I would suggest seeing your doctor about it if it is consistent. Otherwise, try an over the counter sleep aid.

I used to have trouble sleeping and found out that I have sleep apnea and now that I am getting treatment for that, I always sleep great. Every night. And I have dreams too!

While it doesn't sound like you have this, it might be something serious.

I used to be like that...but i did it because it became a habit and then it was hard for me to break it. I suggest you don't think about it as much when you are trying to go to sleep and perhaps see a doctor...they can suggest something that will help you sleep better but don't depend on that too much.
