The one we are looking at is a male, long nose tan and black. Pure bred, but no papers. The family thatis selling him just moved onto a busy street, they are afraid someone ight run him over.

They are originally from Mexico. They come in two coat variations, long and short haired. When giving birth it is often difficult for the mothers as they are bred to have bigish heads and this often causes complications. So then the mother may need a ceaser which is quite traumatic for a little dog.
They dont need a lot of walking, twice round the couch is usually enough!
Dont pay to much if it hasnt papers, check if they are telling the truth about why they are parting with it, could be they have allowed it to have its own way to much and it might be either to yappy or to snappy.

Chihuahuas are very good lap dogs, they are very playful and talkative, mine goes crazy whenever the doorbell rings, but otherwise he's not that noisy. My chihuahua has only bitten a person once, and that was when my little four year old cousin was playing with him. Chihuahuas are good with adults though, even strangers as long as you let them know that the person is okay. They are VERY good watch dogs. My dog has a close dog buddy but he's not very nice to dogs he doesnt know. They are really good swimmers, and like warm weather. Oh, and sometimes, they'll randomely yip as if they were being hurt, most of the time they're ok, the yipping comes with being small.

i own a chihuahua right now. he is really energetic and he barks when he hears the door bell rings. they get pretty hyper but if you play with them for a little bit...that would work off their engergy really quick. today i played with him for less than 15 mins....then he had no more energy to run. i would say they love their master the most because he only listens to me then second is my boyfriend. so...yeah...they pick favorites. hey don't usually eat a lot. so i guess that might save you some money on dog food. chihuahuas are great if you don't have a small child. because they get hyper easily and you know kids are the same..they might hurt each other. if you like that chihuahua then you should really do more research. good luck!

I once had a long-haired chihuahuah she was real nervous, but easy to train, they take to kids real easier and need alot of love and attention and there are differnet types of chihuahuah for instance a long haired chihuahuah or short haired chihuahuah.

We have a Chihuahua x Jack Russell (primarily Chi) and she is INCREDIBLE! - she is 8 yrs old but youd think she was 8mths old ... VERY obiediant and smart ... she is very true to her Chihuahua breed as far as learning new tricks, being obiediant, very well tempered and she makes friends with EVERYONE! - they are great with kids, cats and other dogs ... Alot of people say that Chihuahuas are very "yappy" but we havent had this problem at all ... she is a very quiet dog who only barks when shes really excited or playing .... I'm sure youd be very happy with a Chihuahua ... hope this helps!

I have 3. They are wonderful dogs, but some can have bad tempers. Make sure he is sweet and friendly with everyone. They are not best with little children who can accidentally hurt them. That family should NOT be allowing their little dog to run loose where it could get hit by a car!!!!

they are very attached to thier owners so it will take some time for your dog to get used to you, being a male you must train him to go outside because they sneak and pee on everything, they are the best dogs, I have 3 chico chumbley and louie and I had to give them up and still miss them
