Yes, you're absolutely correct. My grandmother used to sing, "I'm a little Teapot," to me when I was very young, and I grew up to be an unrelenting parent. "Muffin Man" is the reason I attend therapy twice a week. If the media were at all interested, perhaps we could expose these pernicious tunes and prevent further damage.
