a guy once said: "my conscience is free as long as she is not my girlfriend"..."physical closeness (as long as there's no nudity) is nothing to me....but girl seems to take it seriously"

Is holding hands in public the guys way of acknowledging that the gal is his girlfriend?

Speaking from a womans point of view-- I think judging from what you said, he wants a no strings attached friendship. Some guys are affectionate and some aren't. Maybe he was never given any when he grew up-- It does impact on their lives when they aren't taught what it is to love others: ie siblings and family members.

I would seriously confront him about his actions(or lack of) its very clear to me that he doesn't like to be made to feel 'wanted' in public or indeed anywhere else. Some guys just like the idea of 'female company' and nothing else.

Simple solution though, if he's not giving off the right signals (and this is speaking metorphorically) don't assume he feels anything

Most guys cannot get close without feeling attachment or desire
the tough part is deciding which he feels dont confront him or put him on the spot guys get defensive real fast. Instead control the situation make it clear to him that you dont want to hold hands etc because that would send out signals that you are together and that is wrong because you are not together. End that statement with a question like Are We? dont judge his response at once give him a bit of time if he likes you he will declare it

holding hands in public is the girls way of showing she has you under her control. Maybe a way to prove to herself that you want her enough to look so stupid walking around holding hands. I myself don't like holding hands.

And yes if you are very friendly with a female you can pretty much bet she thinks you are hers.

Yes a guy can have sex with a female with no emotional attachment. Guys see looks first and sex second and then if you are good at both of those and you treat him nice and are smart he will take you as his and sex will stop.

lol funny huh..

I need the emotional attachment..I am about pleasing her and I am looking for real, deep intimacy when in a serious commited relationship...I know that is different from many men but that is how I am

um holding hands shows affection most of the time guys wont give affection if they dont like the girl. If you are getting your hand held and smiles from him.. he is definately interested.

Holding hands is exactly that holding hands.

When a guy acknowledges that you are his girlfriend he says you are my girlfriend.
