I dont respect people who let thier allergies affect thier likes and dislikes it is really annoying, as an allergy sufferer myself I have 2 dogs and 4 cats, even though I have allergy induced asthma, along with the regular symptoms..sneezing 20 times in a row, eyes watering nose runny, hives on my face from cantact with a cat or dogs fur. I dont let it affect my life besides after about 2 weeks of suffering for each of my pets my body became used to it and I am no longer allergic to my specific pets. So I hate it when people whine because if they would just endure for 2 weeks they would no longer be allergic to that animal, but no they are just too weak to wait it out and win over a simple biological response. I have never let allergies rule my life!!

Yes, but some times they're hiding their true reasons. I once read that when people are allergic to cats, it's really not the cats, but the saliva of the cats.

well some just don't say why they hate it.
i learned that there are three reasons why people say they hate cats:
one they have a childhood trauma that involved a cat.
two they never grow up with a cat and don't know what a great animal it is.
and three: superstitions on which they grow up on(relates to number two) which started in middle ages European time, and moved to the witch hunt days in Europe.
neither Judaism and Islam faiths condemns cats.
Christian faith started it as a way to condemn pagan’s tribes and other non-Christian religions in Europe if i'm not mistaken.

That might be true in SOME cases, but definitely not in ALL cases.
My mom has disliked cats her entire life, but she is not allergic to them, and doesn't pretend to be. She simply doesn't like them or get along with them.
On the flip side, I have a friend who likes cats, but unfortunately was very allergic to them. However, when he got married, he didn't want his wife to get rid of the cats she already had, so he simply took antihistimines and hoped his allergy would lessen with time. And luckily, it DID!
I could give you more examples of why your question is not necessarily accurate or true, but I think 2 is enough. :)

yes, that is 99.9% of their answers. But, if you really call them on it, it's nothing more than being scared of cats.
I still can not understand the thought of being scared of cats, especially little kittens.
I have a mother-in-law that is like this though. A very friendly cat came around. my husband picked it up and she just freaked out.
I have to say that everyone who told me that they were allergic eventually admitted that they were scared to death of cats. They don't know why, and I can't begin to understand. But, i'd bet ya, more than half really aren't allergic, they are just scared of cats for some reason unknown to me.

Not everyone, I don't have a feeling one way or another towards cats. But, get me close to a cat for an extended amount of time and I break out in itchie hives all over my body. Not to be mean, but it's enough for me to say I hate cats. Sorry.
