You're mom should probably lighten up a bit. It's not like he's going to stop walking for the rest of his life because of a little fright. We cheered and grabbed the video camera too.

I yelped with joy. gone were the days of carrying his heavy bootie around (first one at 12 months 1 day)
groaned and thought I am not ready for this (second child at 9 months)
cried because my baby was turning into a toddler (third child at 10 months)

I have gone through this four times and it doesn't get any less exciting..this is an important milestone for you and your baby..though at 9 months, I feel for ya..with the last one, since he is going to be my last..I got teary eyed and picked him up and gave him a big snuggle..

9 months old and walking already? awesome! i clapped my hands and cheered for my kids, which they are totally used to so it didn't freak them out...but my kids were 11 and 12 months before they walked. my son walked at 11 after crawling for 3 months, and my daughter didn't crawl at all, just one day got up and walked! lol. good for you, enjoying those milestones. it probably won't be the first time his mommy makes some noise because she's so proud of him! :)

I giggled then she fell down. Don't scream at him he's trying really hard. It is hard to contain your excitement of your baby's first steps!

My first one walked to my mom, his granma, so I was jealous. My second to a soda machine, so I laughed. My third threw up his arms and ran into mine, so I cried and hugged him so tight.
Man, I miss them being so little.
