Depends on the question and the person answering. Some know more than others and are articulate; whereas, some don't have a clue and just want to name call, etc...
A lot of it has do to with the variance in ages and maturity levels. That problem always occurs onlinen because you don't get to pick your audience like you do in real life.

Will Rogers once said "all men/women are ignorant, only in different subjects" do you have a chip on your shoulder, perhaps from a stupid answer to a question that you asked earlier? Sure there are some idiots that get a kick out of giving silly answers, as well as kids giggling at potty jokes, but there are also caring educated individuals that truly would like to help. If you seek help, look for intelligent answers and ignore the rest. That's what I do.

You have to realize there are a LOT of people answering questions on this service.
While some people may talk nonsense or spread hatred, the majority of people on here aren't "a bunch of ignorants."
Be very careful about generalizing.

Well, I don't think anyone here is trying to impress anyone. I mean really who are you and who is everyone else on this site. Bottom line is you ask and the rest of us pretend to be interested in whatever question(s) you have. This is not rocket science or even intelligent conversation. Just something to do.
