Not sure. How do you live your life? Do you live your life in such a way as to attract all that is good and repulse all that is evil? Doing so is, of course, no guarantee of success and having good things happen. That said, it will sure increase your chances.

Examine your life. How are you living your life?

I know the feeling, everything seems to be upside down and no matter how hard you try or what you do everything always seems to be out of reach or backfires in your face.

The safest thing to do is to not try so hard to make things happen and just minimise the fall-out from major disasters. I find that when I recognise I'm heading for disaster I try to stop myself from doing what I did last time that caused me to be in the wrong spot at the wrong time, on other occasions I just asked for help from close friends to save me some pain when things got a bit to heavy going, most friends will help just be certain you tell them exactly what you want to happen don't just let them guess at what they think you want. life certainly got better, I hope it does for you too

I dont know your story I just know that every day just being able to take a deep breath in and out is a good thing happening to me. If you need inspiration get it in knowing that you are here and live every day like its your last and every moment like it is that best moment you have ever had and you will only have good things. P.S. Smile every time you see the color brown. Its everywhere, trees, dirt, hair, eyes, etc and you will always be smiling.

Im sure good things happen. Bad things happen to everyone and its a lot easier to focus on them rather than the good. Pay attention to the little things. Those can really add up. Hope you feel better. God bless

You either expect them to or don't -either is destructive because you are not participating but spectating your life.
Stop it.
Start doing and being without keeping score. Have fun. Get "good at something". Stop worrying (even secretly) about others opinions of yourself and be that. Then write a book about your very "REAL" life.

I'm sure not EVERYTHING in your life is horrible. I would start focusing on your blessings, start counting them. I'm sure there's more good in your life then you think. I think personal trials are for our own growth and learning. If you think someone else's life or even another family is perfect, then you really don't know them really well. Everyone has trials and troubles, usually you haven't any idea what others are going through.

Maybe you are being taught a lesson or are getting good things, remember, some people have to drink out of the toilet to hydrate.

From your question, it seems you have a slightly pessimistic attitude about yourself. There is no such thing as luck. If you want good things to happen, then you need to work for them.
