The Jews are hated because they are the chosen people of God. God's chosen nation.

Why did God make this choice? Dunno, can't wait to ask him and hear an answer! But that said, that's what has happened.

There are a lot of people in this world who hate God. But they can't really attack God, so they attack His people. They have suffered much and will likely suffer more.

I have always and will always wish the greatest of blessings on the Jewish people. Their enemies are my enemies. Their friends are my friends.

Many people think the Muslims hate Israel because they are Jews, this is not true, being a Jew has nothing to do with it. After the second world war, the Jews were given land in the middle of Palestine by America, to the Palestinians this was considered an invasion, but to the Jews, they sum how thought that this was there right full home since the beginning. Now think of this as the Arabs came to America and decided that new york was there right full home and that all other Americans should be forced out. this was exactly what the Jews did, and i my self do not like the thought of terrorism as a motive, but the Jews and Muslims TOGETHER were part of a terrorist organization committed to driving out the occupying British at the time. AND ALSO JEWS CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS LIVED TOGETHER PEACEFULLY IN JERUSALEM DURING THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE. But today and since 1919 the occupation of Jerusalem by the Jews is seen as very hippo critical since the Muslims were seen to have shared the land.
Today Muslims hate the Israelis because they stole the land they live on, which is a known Muslim holy site for centuries , and oppress the Muslims living in Palestine. And in Muslim culture and tradition, a Muslim living half way across the world, even if never spoken or heard of them they are seen as a brother or sister to another Muslim living in any where on earth. That is why hatred runs deep at Israel and not the Jewish faith as a religion.

That's a very euro-centric view point. They weren't actually at all persecuted by the Romans or Greeks, or in Eastern Europe until Hitler reared his moustache. In the middle east and North Africa, Jews and Muslims lived happily alongside each other until Europeans started interfering in the 1800s.

Yes, in medieval western Europe, Jews were disliked. Theyw eren't persecuted, but they were marginalised. However, they were necessary for the economy as it was forbidden for Christians to lend money (hence the history of Jewish bankers). They were expelled from England in the 14th centuray, but began to return about 100 years later. They were also expelled from Spain at some point in the inquisition, and there was an element of persecution there at the same sort of time.

But this is only western Europe. For the most part, Jews weren't at all maligned in the places where they lived until the 20th century.

You want a really hated people? Try the Gypsies. Are there any monuments rememebering the million or so Gypsies killed in the holocaust? Not that I know of. They've been actively marginalised since they arrived in europe in the middle ages, and they still are. Horribly so.

I truly don't belief that Jews are the most hated people in today or any day. True the "Jews" Israel has its' very vocal & violent enemies.I'm also sure that taking any religion, and cursing all that practice that religion as hated. Is a clear sign of ignorance. There are sects of any religion that are doing wrong in the name of their God. If declaring all that practice A "religion" are to be hated for the sins of the few, surely Islam is to have all the worlds back turned on them with hate. We can't , and should not do that as most that are Islam are good people.

Actually, Entwined is wrong. Read the Merchant of Venice written by William Shakespeare. Shylock, a lead character, is a Jew, evoking a less than favored reaction via the perceptions of the period, but he was also a tight-fisted miser and a despised money-lender. The character of the miser was a stock comedic villain of the Middle Ages and early Renaissance. This is way before Hitler ever lived. I know you are more wise in understanding anti-semitism and the reactions against the Jews. Antisemitism was first spread by "the Greek retelling of ancient Egyptian prejudices".

In view of the anti-Jewish writings of the Egyptian priest Manetho, Schafer suggests that anti-Semitism may have emerged "in Egypt alone".The hostility commonly faced by Jews in the Diaspora has been extensively described by John M. G. Barclay of the University of Durham. The ancient Jewish philosopher Philo of Alexandria described an attack on Jews in Alexandria in 38 BC in Flaccus, in which thousands of Jews died

I once asked this question as an undergraduate to my Communications teacher (who was also the Chair of the Dept.) and he too had no good response and left it up to the class. I cannot go over everything but I will try to put down some points that I got later on from a cross-cultural psychologist. Firstly, they are not the MOST hated, they are just ONE of MANY hated groups out there :-(

1) Yes, the Jesus thing. Not believeing in him is one thing, but being blamed for his death is really a hard-hitter with Christianity. And I think enough is said about that so I won't get into it. Over the centuries, Jews have not gotten along with any religious group - Christians and Muslims being the main two.

2) For the beginning of civilization part...I'm going to go with the concept that during the Biblical days (if you believe in the Bible, but I just want to put a date to things) and prior to that, remember, most civilizations believed in polytheism (worshipping more than one god/goddess), the Hebrews were one of THE first to come along with the concept of one God. And we know how religious differences just mess up everything. If your belief threatens ours, we'll find a way to get rid of you or stomp you into submission.

3) They are a very ambitious, wealthy people who are capable of surviving under the hardest of situations to still come out on top. They can settle anywhere and through hard work and a community cooperation, build businesses and create wealth. Know the joke about if you are in a room of Jewish people and you have a heart attack...don't worry, there should be at least 3 doctors there? THAT sort of thing. THAT sort of ambition. Plus they were money lenders back in the Medieval period. "Merchant of Venice" may I remind you :-)

3) Since WWII they have become even more commune-like and by that, I mean, they live in their own communities, I know some have their own buses to take them to work, they care for their own, and I'm sure we can find numerous other ways to show how they stick together. BUT...wouldn't you? The Jews were slaves during the Biblical days (old testament), then the death of Christ really put them over, plus we have 6 million of them being murdered during WW2 (and yes, I am aware that 20 million people died, I'm sticking to the point at hand) and the others having to live in ghettos, fight for their lives, etc. THEY KNOW that people don't like them, they KNOW that! So they form ways to help and support each other and keep things close to home, as a way of protecting themselves and attaining some power to gain some positives somewhere in a world that doesn't want them.

4) Racially, the Jewish people are not Caucasian. Yep, some people think that, so I'll put it in for good measure. In fact, the Hebrew people are Semites. They are the same race as the Arabs. So that may be part of it.

I do hope I have helped. I do hope that someone more scholarly than I will come along here and help you out too. :-)

Trials and persecution often makes our faith in the Lord stronger. The Jews are God's chosen people, yet they deny that Jesus is the Messiah (Savior). In the Bible, when God allowed the Jews to go through tribulation it was because He wanted them to draw closer to Him. Its the same today... not only with the Jewish people, but with gentiles (non-Jews) also. Look at the condition of the world.... the more we deny there is a God, the worse off society is becoming. The Lord loves us and wants nothing more than a personal relationship with us. He wants none to perish!

The same way we as parents want the best for our children.... because we love them! Its sort of the "tough love" concept I suppose. We allow our kids to experience situations for themselves so they will learn. If we hand everything to them, shelter them and give them all they want, then they will only grow up to be spoiled, ungrateful and selfish. That child will not love their parents, but use them.

If they're hated, they're responsible for it for several reasons:

1.They stick to a racist attitude towards all the ppl of the world. They think that God chose them to rule the world, but by looking carefully at the old testament we'll find that they were deprived of this feature due to their disobedience to God's orders & blind arguments with moses.

2.This racist attitude is too firm. They think they're the best. They think God created the remaining humans to be their servants. It appears in their Talmud when it states the obligation of good attitudes only to ur brothers i.e.a jewish fellow, but never to other ppl.Yes,Hitler was a bad racist but he had no religious base to his racism unlike the Jews, and that's much worse.

3.They're blaming the world conscience for what happened in WW2,that's ok.But I must say that they really incite the others who shared the same tragedy against them. All the other ppl who were hurt by the Nazis didn't get the attention that the Jews got.The Jews are the only ppl that took benefit from it and we can understand the causes of anger of others at them.

4.Their obssesion by being the chosen evantually made them separate themselves from the societies they lived in.Despite of the efforts of other ppl especially in the middle east to make them merge with all the ppl of country, they just kept themselves away. That unfriendly & defensive attitude wasn't welcomed at all from their communities.

5.They tended to attribute every achievment of any civilization to them in spite of the historical facts. They use their wealth and media to change the facts of history,as they're trying to do with the ancient egypthian civilization. This really irritates the real owners of any civilization.

6.Their invasion of arabian lands and the war they're arousing every now and then to fulfil their expansionistic dreams. The flag of Israel clearly represents this. Two blue lines represent the Nile River in Egypt & the rivers in Iraq.In the middle, there's the David star which represents the zionist domination in these areas. They claim it's their promised land, but obviously the Jews today aren't descendant of the old ones. They're very different in their looks i.e. different genes.

7.Other answeres mentioned that they were merchants sucking others' blood(they aren't their brothers anyway). They mentioned also that christians think that Jews killed Jesus.

8.They also were instructed to believe in other prophets messages, but they hurt other prophets. They went astray.

Personally,I don't hate Jewish ppl.On the contrary,I believe in their prophet & their holy book,it's a part of my religion.

Whom I really hate are the Zionists and blood shedders.

We know that it has an historical basis but I don't think they are the most hated people in the world. Like more hated than Bin Laden? Europe and US has no significant qualms about the JEWS and count Americans and Europeans and many of the Asians countries too, and you may want to change the word MOST because I don't think it's accurate..
