Not just gasoline, but any scientific benefit.
Religion requires believing "true until proven false" in the case of "god". Science is predicated on "false until proven true".
So is the law: "innocent until proven guilty" means the accusation is considered false until it's proven. If christians weren't hypocrites, they would accept being "guilty until proven innocent" until they prove they didn't commit a crime.
The fact that christians want different burdens of proof for themselves and their "god" shows that they don't "walk with jeeezus" as they claim to.
Additional:
"Randy _" is obviously ignorant of abiogenesis, though whether by lack of education or by believing religious lies about it, I can't say.

There are upwards of 2 billion Christians in the world today. Millions upon millions of us recognize the Creation story for what it is: a myth. The tale was intended to explain the unexplainable - the ancients didn't know where the earth came from, so they fashioned a story that described its origins. What's important for us today who read the myth is what it reveals about the worldview of the storytellers and about their relationship with the divine.
Had you paid attention in seventh grade, you would have been introduced to the world of logical reasoning. Logical reasoning - which, by the way, is NOT what you have done in formulating your question - involves making sure you don't include fallacious reasoning in your arguments. Unfortunately, you have made a hasty generalization. You have assumed that, since some Christians hold the view that the earth is a few thousand years old, all Christians must reject the notion of "fossil fuels" as an impossibility. Next time, think your question through before typing away and make sure you are being logical. It may make your head hurt a little - but I KNOW you can do it!!!

I don't know about Christian hypocrites, but the rest of us Christians pretty much use gasoline. After all, God put it in the earth for us to get to now.
By the way, if the earth were billions of years old and the fossil fuels had been trapped under pressure for millions of years as you say, almost all of the fossil fuels would have either erupted out of the crust or otherwise dissipated through the earth so that we couldn't even find any.
Millions of years is an awful long time...

Flood fuels or fossil fuels where made by G-D. How did they find trees going through your millions of years of sediment or mans foot prints next to dinosaurs in the same fossil records. Or fish fossils in the High sierra mountains.

First of all there is no solid evidence for evolution. Secondly, there were dinosaurs, just not as long ago as you think (some even alive today). Thirdly, if we are hypocrites for using fossil fuels to power our vehicles, then you are also in trouble, because you are using up the earth's HISTORY in order to make you be able to go over the speed limit! Why don't we just store up all the gasoline in big tanks and display them in museums too?

Maybe they don't believe that gasoline is a "fossil" fuel. They probably think that God created it for humans and then put it under the surface of the earth. Mc Hummer has a good point.
Randy_ -: "but they cannot explain how life came from non-living material.". Really? Who told you that?

This is one of the most stupid questions I have ever heard. Explain to me how evolutionist proclaim we got here by the big bang theory - but they cannot explain how life came from non-living material - the fact is "IT JUST CAN'T". This question makes you a hypocrite.
You know for sure it took Millions of years - there was a group of scientist that proclaim that the Earth is only 4 thousand years old - so which scientist is correct. Find out on Judgment day!

Science and the Bible coexist when it comes to the earth's existence.
Genesis states that God create the world from nothing (Heb bara).
Later on, it says that God restructured the earth, rebuilt on the chasis of the first creation. This is the creation of almost 6000 yr ago. No one knows how old the original earth is.
For those of you about "dreamland" and "they don't believe," the Bible does not repudiate this.

the really sad and sick thing is that a lot of Xians think it is their god-given right...even duty...to exploit and deplete the world of its natural resources. If you labour under the mass delusion that some sky fairy is going to "rapture" you away from all this...then who cares if you leave your Hummer running, who cares how much fuel is burned at NASCAR...driving in a friggin' circle...but I go off topic. Yes they are hypocrites, but for more than just that.

When the bible was written they did not have to move a the pace that we move today. Christians are hypocrites in most ways, so I would not worry about gasoline.
