One of the biggest arguments against the literal interpretation of the bible is that it does not agree with science. That is baloney.
1) How could humanity come from just two people? Wouldnt incest be involved.?
Answer: Yes incest was involved with Adams children. And there was nothing wrong with it. THe only reason we dont do incest now is because there are too many flaws in our genes. Two people with the same genes create a genetic flaw in a child which leads to disease and retardation. If God made Adam and Eve perfect..with perfect genes, there children would have them. Two related individuals with flawless genes can have nothing but healthy children.
2) The bible says that people long time ago lived 100's of years? Thats dumb right?
Answer: Back to the genes. Science do not know why we get old, wrinkles, gray hair. Theyve spent billions trying to find out. If we had flawless genes, our body wouldnt deteriate at the rate it does now. Which explains Adam and Eves ages.

More detail.
People did live shorter lives in the relatively recent past that is true. But from the beginning of creation it was very long and began to get shorter and shorter until it was very short. Only with the advent of medicines and improving our living standard did our lives at lease began to go back up to a decent level again

what makes you think God only made Adam and Eve? The Bible doesn't mention a lot of things - Adam and Eve were the focus point. And no way in the Bible does it say a brother and sister were placed together to make babies. However you are welcome to believe as you wish for me I do not read it that way so I do not believe it that way. and yes they are said to have live 100's of years but keep in mind there was no junk food or foods that damage health and they were built perfect so it should not surprise they would live a very long time. Science has theories and I would guess the poisons we force ourselves with will effect aging.

Firstly all people, and all other living organisms have flaws (mutations) in their genes.
Secondly huge wold wide international research into the mutations in mitochondiral DNA ( passed unchanged except for mutations down maternal lines) and Y chromosome DNA ( passed unchanged except for mutations down male lines) has proven enequivocally that all living humans descend from people that migrated from Africa in glacial periods 100,000 years ago or less. There were several distinct migrations The first became the Australian Aboriginals, the second the Chinese, the third the majority of people in India and the last everyone else ( Europeans, Amerindians, Siberians, Middle Easterners etc). These migrations exited Afirca by a small land bridge in the red sea. Due to the glaciations the sea levels were low so they travelled on lands that are now mostly submerged. (eg around the Pacific rim). The procedures for the mapping of the migrations invove for example detecting specific mitochondrial DNA mutations in Australian Aborigines, then looking for these mutations in other populations. In this example they occur in tiny percentages in the Indian and Adaman islanders populations and represent the genes of some of the original migrant people who settled on the route.
Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden are a Jewish versian of a Mesopotamian ( modern Iraq) creation myth that the Jews assimilated into their own mythology when their elete were captured and hauled off to Babylon in about the 7th Century BCE

The Book of Genesis follows the line that leads to Christ. It ends off each generation with a 'blurb' on the rejected line, and then resumes. The bible doesn't cover every single line, only those of significance, but does gives enough to explain with logic. Given the length of time that Adam and Eve were alive it is possible that they had many, many children who migrated away from the family to start their own lives. Some of their 'kids' could have been 70 years old (with the body of a 25 year old), before meeting their relatives! I don't think it would have seemed to be incest having never seen each other. It does provide an explaination as to how Cain got his wife though. As for the long life span, there are many environmental factors that attribute to ageing and one for example was the crime of Cain slaying Abel that led to our having to fertilise the earth to grow our food. Our food is no longer as rich in nutrients and this is evident even today. Things don't taste as good as they used to 50 years ago and in fact, we tamper with our food with additives and the like which you cannot deny is linked to a range of health issues. The effects that these things have on us are subtle as we do not last long enough to notice them or become complacent to the reasons. Things aren't that different to then in the way we live our lives with or without God, only that what we are all experiencing is the cumulative effect of sin. We all harm our bodies, even if it just walking down the street breathing in car fumes. It's not our fault individually, but it is as a whole. It's taken generations for some of these physical ailments and imperfections to spread throughout the population. Our genes lose information and we can't go back to the physical perfection of Adam and Eve. As for technology, we ride on the back of the knowledge of our ancestors. When we invent something new, we don't start from scratch, someone has already invented most of the components for our new invention. We just improve it slightly. If we were around for billions of years, we should be in all probabilty, Einstein by the power of 1000. We send men to the moon in brain defying shuttles to examine moon rocks and still don't know the answers. What a waste of money if there was no answer, so it lends itself to justification, which lends itself to the manipulation of results, not that they have any results for this particular instance. Since we are preconditioned to accept Evolution, we find it hard to be impartial let alone unlearn what is just a well marketed Theory. We have not come that far to bathe in our own glory. We are just not that worthy.

The bible implies that there were others. It does not specifically say adam and eve were the only people. When Cain killed Abel he was cast out of the garden of Eden he went to the land of Nod and found a wife there. There must have been others or how would there be a whole town with it's own name?

Pointless argument because the bible was written two thousand years ago by the equivalent of cave men compared to the knowledge we have today. Science doesn't claim to know the origins of life. Science does claim to try to understand as much as possible to better life as a whole. The bible (created by the human mind) claims to know everything based on completely unprovable ideas. The fact that alot of people believe the bible and the fact that we don't know the origin of life does not constitute proof.

Fundies are so cute when they try to use logic!
Listen, the problem with what you're saying is that the conclusion is built into the premise. For example: "the bible says that people lived for 100 years. This must be true, because other parts of the bible support this notion."
In other words: the bible is true because it's the bible. Not only do you not provide a logical succession of thoughts, but you backtread.

The Bible isn't a technological expertise textbook so it in all likelihood isn't the superb position to commence on an difficulty like that. Genesis is assumed to be extra about why then how. Winding decrease back a touch to the pre-evolutionary era. The Bible makes use of the word create (Bara). this isn't about re-forming or replacing yet to surely create something that wasn't there formerly vast Bang form. God created count Genesis a million:a million, existence a million:21, and humanity a million:27. notwithstanding for something else of Genesis He in simple terms made. "enable the waters convey on", "enable the earth convey on", or making people with "the airborne dirt and dust of the earth". became this making through evolution. in all likelihood. some believe evolution isn't a threat because the Bible talks of days (yom). yet yom is frequently used non-quantitatively in scripture so there is not any reason to imagine that it ought to be quantitative there.

I am not sure that I understand your argument.
How would sex linked traits exist now if there were no mutations in the genes? Certainly, if we have them now, Adam and Eve must have had them, right?
How does our bodies deteriorating at the rate it does now explain Adam and Eve? And we have discovered that the life expectancy has INCREASED!!! So how is this helping your argument?

Adam and Eve were the first, but not the only. Adam is also the translated word that was used for "Mankind". They weren't alone. Ever wonder were Cain got his wife?
