The umbilical cord connect from the baby to the placenta. That's how the baby gets its nutrients.

navel. It goes from the inside of the mother's belly button to the baby's belly button.

I know it comes from the placenta, but isn't the placenta where the bellybutton is? Sorry I don't remember all this...lol

It is attached from the baby's belly button to the placenta (not the mother's belly button).
