It might seem that way at first but the results are only temporary, eventually something always goes wrong. Lies are always unfolded, or you have to make up so many lies to cover the first one that your life becomes a living hell. Cheating and stealing usually get caught or same scenario you steal something small and then want something big, and bigger until you end up with enemies and God knows how many problems. Honesty and integrity always work. I'd rather reach my goals by hard work than by getting away with it that's when I know I really deserve it.

I don't but then I don't own much either. It's not suffering, I am beyond that. If I do not want much, I don't suffer because I don't have it
Unfortunately, the churches do not offer a good role model. Many churches, including some of the modern fundamentalists, have and still are cheating and stealing from vulnerable people

I don't think it's ok to do that at any time. Usually plans fail in the end when either of the three take place. I know I've done all these and I've gotten caught for half of them. The other half are in my conscience locked up but if it has to be done and everyone else is doing it and there's no other option, I doubt anyone one of us would like to take the blame for anything and let everyone else step on us. Therefore, sometimes yopu have to go with the flow.

NO IT IS NOT OK ! I have found in my life that the people that try to take the "short route" in life by lies and cheating, do not make it in the real world. My husband and I worked our butts off when we were young, and were both able to retire in our 40's. We owned two businesses and as I said worked very hard, but we noticed that the employees that were sticky fingers are still nowhere in their lives. Due to the fact that they did not want to work hard for their money, they waisted their time trying to figure out how not to get caught steeling our money.

Absolutely not!
However, I've watched plenty of people lie, cheat, steal & go far..for a while. Eventually kharma catches up with them.
I'm happy to forego the short-term pleasures in order not to have the future pain & disgrace.
Do you think Mother Theresa considered she finished last? I seriously doubt it! She was loved & respected throughout the world..even by people like me who are not religious.

Is never OK to act in ways that will negatively affect others. Lying, cheating and stealing are selfish acts, outside any teaching provided to us by Jesus and the Prophets.
Finishing last according to whom? Society?
We need to stop looking at what others do or have (like criticizing others) and start being grateful for who we are, what we have and what we don't have since we probably don't need it right now.

At first I thought you were a sarcastic psycho, until I finished your question. My advise is to be honest and honorable. Its your face you have to see in the mirror. How much easier to look at it with a clear conscience it is!! Nice guys may finish last, and maybe only the good die young, but a clear conscience gives peaceful sleep, and pleasant dreams!

No I don't believe that you should lie or cheat to get ahead. Kudos for sticking to what you know is right. As for the persecution, Christ was persecuted; not only in His death on the cross, but also just daily. For the way he lived, for spending time with the lowly people or helping the not so popular. Romans tells us that we are coheirs with Christ in our future glory, as well as in our current sufferings. So, persevere my friend!
