You have to get your Real Estate License first before you can become an appraiser. Most major Real Estate companies will actually pay for you to go to Real Estate school if you committ a year or so of service to them.

You need to find a certified course of instruction. I can't tell you where to look other than on the Net. I was a licensed real estate agent. Appraising real estate have nothing in common and a real estate license isn't necessary anywhere to the best of my knowledge.

You do not have to have a real estate license to become an appraiser! You do, however, have to have an appraiser license!

Check out IREAS.com. Depending on what kind of licensing you want, you need to have so many hours of education and experience. It's Federally regulated, so it doesn't matter what state you're in.

Good luck!
