my cat is 3 years old (going to be 4 on july 30th) and she is sick. she won't eat much, she won't drink, she won't play, she won't go outside (which is really scary because she would always wake my family up at 4:30 A.M. Just to get outside), and she is always sleeping. All day she keeps doing this wierd coughing thing that sounds like she is trying to throw up but it won't come out, she has been like this for a week now, is this normal? will it heal on its own or will i have to get her something to help fix it?

If you really care about your poor kitty, get her to a good veterinarian immediately. She might have something stuck in the back of her throat! Possibly, she may have a crushed windpipe, even. (I have heard that sound, from a poor cat I used to own, in that situation.) She could even have some kind of cat virus. If it has already been a whole week, then it cannot be from any poison she may have picked up, outside. But, she will not get better on her own. She will die, if she cannot eat or drink. I'm not trying to alarm you, but she needs some expert help, right away.

I wouldnt chance seeing if it will clear up on its own, she sounds pretty bad. If she is a valued pet I would go ahead and take her in. Hope she gets better.

You need to get your cat to the vet. There are too many possibilities. Get her a proper diagnosis and treatment. Please do not delay any longer.
