This is very healthy! She is establishing a good foundation for the rest of her life. Encourage her, and better yet, join her.

I was also addicted to exercise about 16 years ago. I used to do one 45 minute aerobics class 3 nights a week which eventually turned into 5 nights a week and sometimes was 2 classes back to back. I used to work out on weights for 2 - 3 hours after aerobics and on days off . I was addicted to the rush or the hi from the pump. When I missed a day I felt terrible and guilty. Since then I've gone the other way and have become addicted to not working out. In my honest opinion I don't think you need to worry. The human body has a way of shutting down if we do too much and exercise is good for the body. Unfortunately most of us don't get enough or any. So if your cuz gets in shape now and adopts a healthy life style she will be the better for it in later years. Just my $.02

there is a such thing as too much exercise! The body needs rest some when u are vigorously exercising everyday. If your body doesnt have time to rest then the metabolism will slow down to try to keep the body functioning correctly. Then she will lose weight slowly and think that she isnt exercising enough and will be actually making it worse. Everyday exercise is not bad but too much stress on it everyday is terrible.

It is possible to become addicted to exercise because it causes the brain to release more endorphins (the 'feel-good' chemical). But at your cousin's age, I would be more concerned about anorexia.

Exercise every day isn't a bad thing. But when it becomes the sole purpose of your existance, there's a problem.

Good luck!

I think that is great and if she can only continue like that all the way, she will be in great shape and healthy.
