My Cat's Hair on his back is sticky, does he need a bath or is it something else?

My Cat's Hair 0n his back is sticky, what does that mean, he needs to get clean up?

he is an indoor cat, just his hair not furry like i take him to vet this week i was worried i just wondered what could it be, as long its nothing more then just maybe him needing a bath or shampoo for his hair

Yes. I would get a towel damp it in some water and clean the area. If the stickiness is still there I would contact a vet.

cats don't usually need bathed,, sounds like he got something on him,, just take a damp cloth and clean him gently until the sticky is gone,, if it persissts,, use mild soap but make sure u rinse,, but don't submerge him in water

Just spray him with cat shampoo and dry him off with a damp towel. Cats don't like water. Its best to use a shampoo that don't need water.

you can try to use some cleaning wips (with out the special smells and no alchol)
or try some lukewarm wet towel and while his asleep clean him up and then dry him.

if is still sticky talk to an animal hairdresser.

If he's an outdoor cat, he's probably walking under parked cars or some such thing and getting grease on himself.

did you let him outside, cause he could have rolled in something. i would call it safe and wash him before he licks his back incase it is bad for him.
