I would say Boxer.

These are of paramount importance in the Boxer. Instinctively a hearing guard dog, his bearing is alert, dignified, and self-assured. In the show ring his behavior should exhibit constrained animation. With family and friends, his temperament is fundamentally playful, yet patient and stoical with children. Deliberate and wary with strangers, he will exhibit curiosity, but, most importantly, fearless courage if threatened. However, he responds promptly to friendly overtures honestly rendered. His intelligence, loyal affection, and tractability to discipline make him a highly desirable companion. Any evidence of shyness, or lack of dignity or alertness, should be severely penalized.

We had a boxer when I was a little girl and he was very protective.. to the point if my father even had to spank me she had to be put out first. She was a great dog though. She was great with my brother and me,

We had several German Shepherd's when I was growing up. They are GREAT Dogs. Very Smart and protective as well. When my brother was in Vietnam he was a MP and his dog that patrolled with him was s Shepherd. They are really good with children too.

I don't know anything about the Terrier.

German shepherds tend to be over protective of small children, they see them as there own and sometimes bite the wrong people. Am Stafs are awesome, just make sure you get it from a reputable breeder, alot can be said about a dogs future personality from it's parents. Try to meet the parents. Boxers are good dogs too, I just don' thtink they are as protective

We have a Staffordshire Terrier and she is a good dog. However, they require lots of attention or they can get destructive. They need lots of walks, toys, and things to keep them busy. They are very loving and friendly, shed very little, and are very loyal. Too many people confuse them with pitbulls, which they are not although they are considered a bully breed. Good for you for doing your homework before getting a new pet.

GSD. Smart, loyal and when trained, you couldn't ask for a better animal.

Boxers are great big friendly dogs with little bitty brains.

And the AST is a terrier - as a breed grouping terriers are aggressive beasts with a propensity to violence - even the little cute fluffy ones.

Of those three I would have to say Boxer first. Then Shepherd, then AmStaff. All of them will really benefit from a good training program.
