Doesnt matter how old you are but if your under 18 you need a parent or legal gaurdian to sign with you......

You have to be over 18 or have a parental cosigner because if you are under the age of 18 you cannot enter into a contract as such.

Furthermore, if for some reason you weren't paying on the credit card the credit card company could not sue you because you are under the age of 18.

You must be 18 to enter into a legally binding contract. That includes credit cards.

If you don't have an adult to cosign the account, then 18 (19 in some states such as Alabama). I had my first Visa card when I was 14.
