And doesn't like to drive? Is there anything wrong with that, or am I the only guy in America over 40, who wants to date women, but doesn't drive? Rude responses will be reported.

If a woman won't go out with you because you don't drive or own a car, I am afraid that they may just be shallow. What ever happened to dating the man for the man and not his possessions?

I am one of those women who prefers to have a man of substance than a man with possessions. The man I live with, who is the love of my life, drives a 23-year-old, beaten up point A to B car and I couldn't care less. If he didn't have a car, no problem, I do. He is a great man. He respects, loves and takes care of me. He is a hard-working man who makes a great paycheck and chose to buy a home rather than drive a fancy car. Now, that is a man with his priorities in order.

Best of luck on your search for Ms. Right.

Dude...either start driving or move to a city where it's not as necessary to drive, like NYC.

Reason 1: You'll run into countless inconveniences when you're trying to date women if you don't drive...ESPECIALLY if you're a little insecure about it. Which you probably are or you wouldn't have posted this question. Generally speaking, if you don't drive, dating is going to be a pain in the *** for you, even if you can pull it off confidently.

Reason 2: Most chicks might be a little weirded out or wonder if you've really grown up yet.

Girls are inductive reasoners. They notice little details about you (like the fact that you don't drive) and make assumptions about you based on those details. For example, if your hair always looks nasty, a girl will assume that you aren't responsible enough to take care of yourself...in which case, you could never be responsible enough to be a real man for her.

My point? You're making things hard for yourself by not driving. However, if you CAN'T drive for whatever reason, don't let that limit you! Girls WILL be attracted to somebody over 40 who doesn't drive IF he is confident about it and can make her feel genuine attraction for him.

Deep, I know...but you asked.

Man! I'm in my early 40's and I can honestly say you should get a car. I can't imagine living without a car, but to assume someone else will want to cart you around is assuming a lot.

Learn to drive and get a car...you might be surprised at the improvement in your social life.

That said, if you truly do not want to drive, try a metro area like Atlanta, Boston, Seattle or New York City with good public transportation. I don't think lack of a car is uncommon and doubt anyone would think you're unusual.

If you can be creative about doing something, then cool. But without transportation your activities are limited.

Of course, you could always take a taxi. That is not a bad idea at all, but could become expensive.

There is one other thing to consider: people in general, not just women, look at someone that does not drive and asks why? If you have issues in that area, you better think up some good (and truthful) answer before she asks!!!

Good luck!

U not wanting to drive is one thing and I think that some women can deal with that, but at the same time most women want a man with transportation. Atleast get a ride so you can go on yourself some dates.

Im not a guy but...

Well lets put it into perspective shall we?
I am 43yrs old woman, I do not drive, I do not have a car and I want to date you, but you dont have a car, you dont like driving so where do we go?
YOu do need a car I hate to say. How do you get by and around without one? I'm saving to fix my car and Im going crazy without one for a few years now. But my husband drives so that takes care of the rest. But what about you?

yes it would seem rather odd for a woman to meet a guy without a car and who does nto like driving, she will have to do it all I think and she may not like that.

Good luck.

got it?

Some superficial and shallow girls won't date you simply because you don't have a car. Hopefully, you're okay with that, but I can't imagine why someone would want to date someone that is like that anyway.

There's nothing wrong with not owning a car, and you'll probably score points with the tree-hugger crowd too. You're likely also saving a bundle by not owning a car. Don't stress so much over it.

Not all women.

Only some want to have a ride & take their dates for a ride. Others not that much demanding. They want a good likeable company & that's all.

Please, don't be disheartened because you can't drive. You can take your date by a taxi / auto / bus / train or by even walk. But show your real consideration & admiration for her & appeal to her sensibilities & win her heart.

To learn swimming, first get into water. You can't learn by standing on the shore & asking for advices & instructions.

Other things will sort themselves out.

Wish you all luck.

I hope not because I have not been able to drive for six months and have another six months to go. But seriously women who have a smaller appetite for material possessions seem to have not problems dating a guy who does not drive. Just frame it in a way that makes it seem like a benefit, like getting more exercise.

to most women it matters yes, and almost everywhere in the US it is necessary. If you lived in a place like N.Y. or something where not having a car is common, and you did not lose your privlage to drive, that makes a diffrence as well as to your character. But if it is just your choice, I dont think it would be looked at as much of a problem at all.
