Okay, I was born here in the US. My husband was born in Mexico and came here illegaly when he was 15. We met about 3 years ago and have since had a daughter. She is 11 months old. He has always supported us, and he is a wonderful father and loves his daughter. Well, now he is being deported back to Mexico. He has been ripped out of the life of his daughter, and will be dropped off across the border with no money, food, change of clothes, or place to sleep. We are suffering because of this and now I am left to support our daughter by myself. She misses her daddy. He came here to make a better life for himself. Maybe they would come here legally if this country would come up with a better plan for them to do it. It needs to be cheaper, and faster. I'm sure that if any one of us had to live like them, we would be jumping across the border in a heartbeat!!! Why does this country always stand up for the children, but if their father is here illegally than they just forget about them???

Its jsut disgusting. All this political prostitutes and close minded conservatives should be deported themselves. Look i think immigration should be controlled. We cant have this country over populated. but certain cases should be an exception. Esepcailly if it involves the future of a citizen (this womans daughter) so cmon if u where in this womans place how would u feel. Im disgusted by the blunt racism that this country still suffers.

OK, that is bad things happened that way .. this is where I take the cold hearted approach and tell you this. You knew he was illegal, and yet you got involved with him, you knew there was a risk he could get deported, and he did. If you got involved with a man that robbed a bank, and you knew he did this, and then later he got caught, would you be upset at the government and the people because of his crime ?

We all need to be held accountable for our own actions.

However, you are married, and you do have a child that needs her father. If I was you , I would contact a attorney, maybe you will find some way he can come back, like a work visa or could possible get a lead in the right direction to help him come back some other way legally.

This is another example of the terrible things that can happen from entering the U.S. illegally, I hope with strict boarder control these issue will some day be gone.

I do feel sorry for your daughter, but your story does NOT change my feelings, whatsoever, about the need to deport ALL illegal immigrants and seal up the borders tightly. You and your man made a big mistake by having a child BEFORE you got him legal residency status. The only ones to blame here is the two of YOU! You should have thought things through a little more before you got yourselves into this predicament. Don't blame the government or anyone else - put the blame where it belongs - with you and him! People need to not just think with their hearts - you have brains for a reason! "Love" will NOT make everything alright! Hard lesson to learn, I know. Now, you have to do the best you can for your daughter, beit move to Mexico to be with her father, or move on and take care of her yourself. Millions of single mothers have done it, and so you know it can be done. Grow up and take responsibility for the choices YOU make!

OK, if he has been completely deported then by law he will have to wait 10 years before he can come legally. He will either have to wait it out, have you go live in Mexico, or have him come illegally again.

If he is still in holding, then you should pay the $7000 and bail him out. Then he will go before a judge, take your daughter and plea that he can go voluntarily to Mexico. He will have to wait out the time it takes to get his papers, but it should take less than 2 years.

If you cant afford to bail him out, you can at least take him some money to where he is being held and a bag of clothes. The guard may not let you see him, but they should take the bag to him.

I feel really bad for you, a friend of mine is going through a similar situation, she has a little boy almost 2 and her man is an idiot, he got drunk and drove 100 mph and the cops stopped him. He mouthed off to them and was put in holding for deportation. She bailed him out and he requested to leave voluntarily, he will be leaving in Aug. They are not married though. I wish you the best of luck.

I don't see a problem. I stand by the Suprem Court's decision to deport a guy that's been here 25 years with a family.

When an important family member has to be punished for breaking the law it is hard on everyone. But he knew the risk he took and having a wonderful child and woman does not shield him from the law more than anyone else.

I gave you my personal reasons that I didn't feel appropriate in public by email, I believe if your strong and rational you'll agree that your situation is better.

I'm sorry that you're going through this, but no one twisted your arm to marry an illegal immigrant. Why have you or him not even tried to put an effort into making him legal? You can blame everyone you want, but the truth of it is, it's both you and your husband's fault that your daughter is heartbroken. The laws of the US are there for a reason. Many, many immigrants have come to the US and recieved their citizenship, after putting forth the effort. Your husband should do the same. I wish you luck in this......

That is a really sad story, and I feel bad for you. But why is it always America's fault? Why do we have to come up with a better plan? Why can't Mexico straighten up? Why is it always our responsibility? Just because the USA has such great oppurtunities and all that, we should be responsible to help all the citizens of all the countries around the world? Why can't it be the countries that are failing thier own peoples fault for once? That is what I would like to know.

If you are so worried about your daughter...go and live in Mexico with the father...Oh...probably not willing to do that eh?
If you had been a little more discerning with whom you decided to have children with then your daughter wouldn't be in this predicament.
Should we let out all the felons in prison because they have children....I think not. You hooked up with a fell on. There are consequences for such actions. I do not wish them on you and I do have sympathy for your daughter. I would start the legal process ASAP or move to a border town and meet him as often as possible!!

I feel sorry for your baby, but your husband (and you) had to KNOW there was a chance of that happening, when he sneaked into this country ILLEGALLY!!!
There's a LOT of "wonderful people" who would just LOVE to come to this country, and "make a better life for themselves", but the reason it DOES cost so much and is such a PAIN to get here, is because we can NOT let just anyone and everyone, come here that wants to!

ILLEGAL immigration is a CRIME, and the punishment is DEPORTATION. This is what happens, to people who do not obey the laws of this land. Too bad, he did not do things the LAWFUL way.

There were laws when he came here and he knew it. Why didn't he get legal in the years he's been here? Maybe the USA has reasons for making it difficult. Maybe we don't want an INFLUX of too many coming in here at one time.
Unscreened illegal immigrants could harbor dangerous diseases, would you want your precious child catching one of those deadly, incurable diseases? There is the possibility of any kind of criminal crossing that border. Would you want to be attacked by a rapist illegally here in our country? What about your child? There are pedophiles and all kinds of monstrous criminals crossing that border. They are criminal in their own countries and are crossing into the USA to escape prosecution there. We have criminals here too, should we also have those coming across the border added to those we already have? Your husband needs to get legal and come back. Or, you and your daughter can join him there. Maybe you could show the ignorant Mexicans how to plant and harvest tomatoes, peppers and corn and how to raise chickens and pigs, and how to survive, they don't have any survival skills to speak of. Americans know how, you can show them.
