OCD means Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
I have it. It is like having compulsions to do certain things above the way they are normally done. I have a mild case and I only do these things (for now because they say it can get worse in time!):
1) My toiletries can last until mid or late next year. I stock up because I fear of running out.
2) I cannot go to sleep unless I have taken a shower.
3) My clothes are arranged from shortest to longest and according to colors.
4) My books are arranged according to read and unread, from tallest to shortest. I have about 20 books I still have not read yet, all BRAND new.
5) I always do things in a highly regular scheduled way, e.g. wake up at 7 am, have coffee, feed my dogs, take a bath, dress to work, check my email then leave the house by 8:30 am.
I have others but I don't think I should overwhelm you. :)

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which is a type of anxiety disorder, consisting of recurrent thoughts or behaviors, and rituals. Washing hands dozens of times a day is a compulsion that many people have, or maybe checking the stove for half an hour before going to bed or leaving for work.
People suffering from OCD can be plagued with unwelcome, persistent thoughts, or by the urgent need to perform their rituals (washing hands out of an intense fear of germs, or checking things repeatedly. Ignoring the need for rituals only makes things worse (I have OCD).
There are medications that can help, and counseling as well.

OCD is called obsessive compulsive disorder. Its a very interesting
thing to observe. My son who is 16 at this time was put on a medication called AdderallXr. He did some really weird stuff. He would close the bathroom door 3 times before he would finally close the door. He would walk into a room and he had to turn the light on off and then on again. He would walk around our coffee table 3 times before he would sit down in a chair. Had to put a napkin on a chair before he would sit down. When we would get home he would get out of the car walk around our Xmas tree 3 times and then put his hands on the front of the house. His shoes had to be in perfect place. Oh I could go on and on. When we would ask him why he would do that he really had no idea. he would say if I didn't do it, it just wouldn't be right. He has out grown allot of it but every once in awhile you'll catch him doing some odd thing.

Derwood's a sicko and I'm sorry he was the first to answer- he knows nothing! ignore.
Obsessive compulsive disorder is kind of self-defined- you're obsessed with something, usually rituals like hand washing, fear of germs, worry that you forgot something like turning off burners on the stove,... and you're compulsive- you do things over and over sometimes and just have to do something even though it makes no sense- like touch certain things. For example- silly as it sounds Monk in the TV show. Of course a lot of it is literary license for humor but humor is our best friend and should be used as long as it's not outrageously poking fun. Monk goes around touching every light pole he passes and that slows him down when he's running from a bad guy chasing him. Silly, but not totally off the mark. Touching light poles my be one symptom someone with OCD may have.
Medication sometimes helps with the symptoms. And of course, there are varying degrees of disability related to varying severity. It is not an easy illness to live with for most who have it. (Remember also the movies "What About Bob?" and "As Good As It Gets". It seems that OCD makes for hilarious comedy, but truly- many with OCD live limited lives because of their disorder.)

I have OCD really bad... if I see somebody throw up I will start hurting myself and I'll cry and scream hysterically. I have to take a med for it twice a day to help me calm down. OCD is when somebody either becomes seriously obsessed with doing something that they need help, or else they hate something so much that they need help. it usually requires medication. Hope this helped!

obsessive compulsive disorder.....people who have really weird habits, I watched a show on mtv once about it and there were people who have to breath 7 times before walking into the bathroom, there was a guy, every time he left his house he would sit in front of his door for like 5 minutes wiggling the doorknob to make sure it was really locked while making these really strange breathing noises.

It means Only Calls Dillholes.
It is an affliction that girls get.
They ignore nice guys and call up rapists and assbandits who treat them poorly.
No one really knows the cause yet. It is suspected that it is genetic.
