Nobody wants a draft, especially the military. You can bet that if there ever is a draft we will all be fighting for our lives.
Debra H can you list all the heres and theres where Bush is sticking his nose where it doesn't belong? Perhaps you just don't understand the situation. I'm betting many of you Bush bashers will be eating your words one day once you figure things out.

I'm not feeling very positive right now, fearing that they may indeed reinstate the draft. I have one son, age 20. My concern is the US will find a way to aid Israel and in doing so, will open up the back and front doors to the States for terrorists to come in and somehow, I feel like that's exactly what would happen. I pray I am wrong, I really do.

there is no need for a draft. The Navy and the Air Force are actively downsizing as they are severely overmanned. Army and Marines only has shortages in a few select specialties.
All of the military Branches have indicated that they do NOT want a draft.. they much prefer people who are educated and WANT to be in the military.

If " Fighting George" keeps sticking his nose into every problem that he shouldn't, and starting wars here and there, you bet there will be a draft and Bush won't give a damn if your sons or nephews die.. just as long as he gets to be the war president.. the decider. Did you vote him in, then I pity you.

I believe that a draft would only be re-instituted if there are not enough men who volunteer. It is so difficult to know the true number of troops we truly do have available, so this is a very difficult question.

Not even close. They do have to sign up for selective service when they are 18.
Don't believe all the conspiracy theories.

nope..not as long as g-dub is in the white house...it was part of his election platform...he said no draft while he is in office. Now, you may not believe everything he says...but he has been consistent so far....
