They used to worship many idols and Gods beside Allah ( The God, creator), as far as I know.
Reading the Holy Quran and islamic websites might give you better insight.
And by the way, they did not have any prophet before Prophet Mohammed ( peace be upon him ).
Thank you.

They were under Roman rule for a couple of hundred years before Mohamed. Before that it was the Greek and Egyptian cultures which dominated the region. Both the Greek and Egyptian cultures worshiped many gods...you've heard of mars (the god of war) and Venus (the goddess of love) those were Greek gods/goddesses.

Both cultures developed separately from an advanced form of animism.

Before Islam
Before the birth of Islam, there was no political unity in the Arabian peninsula. The nomadic tribes of the region subscribed to a primitive religion of naturism, whereby they attributed spirits to inanimate objects such as stones and trees. They had no formal priesthood but, when in need of advice, consulted soothsayers who would respond with brief, enigmatic oracular utterances.
Within Makkah itself tribes worshipped idols placed around and over the Ka'aba. As the trade routes of the Arabian peninsula grew in importance in the fourth century AD, towns developed, especially along the west and east coasts. Among these towns was Makkah, made up of a number of tribal groups, the most important of which was the Quraysh tribe. It was from the Quraysh that the Prophet Muhammad was descended.

A pagan religion which consisted of idol worship.

They were then put inside the kaaba which used to be the place of worship of the old religion.

Now they worship a big meteor that everyone kisses and prays to.

The people of Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, etc...are named in the Bible...(taking us back a very long time)...and taken together as "Persians". As a matter of fact (as I think about it), Iran WAS "Persia" until quite recently...but the exact year alludes me...and according to the Bibles' ancient text, they "worshipped" things which they made with "their own hands", "which can neither hear, see, nor walk"...out of "gold, silver, and things made of wood"...which in some ways they continue to do until the present day.

They were polytheists, worshiping MANY different gods. Muhammad put a stop to it with the sword! The "Big black (square) rock" they circle round about during their pilgrimage is cover in gold laced cloths/ rugs to hide the evidence thereon.

There were either believers of Jesus or Mosus (peace be upon them all) but most of them had been distracted from the teaching of Jesus (peace be upon him) that was why Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent to realign people.
They had started worshiping statues of renowned historical persons and used to think that these share the capabilities of the Allmighty Allah.
The true believers of Jesus and Mosus (peace be upon them all) were really waiting for Muhammad (peace be upon him) as their books instructed them for that.
Anyways, the basic religion of Jesus (peace be upon him) was islam which had been diluted by the blasphemers of that time then Muhammad (peace be upon him) came and showed them the right path.

It might be easier to list what they DIDN'T worship. They always believed in a single creator (Allah), but worshipped countless idols, the sun and other celestial bodies, fire, you name it.
