All comes down to your personal preference. The toothbrush should always be soft or extra soft, never medium or hard. I personally use the Sonicare toothbrush and love it and recommend it highly! But it just depends on the person. Some people do quite well with just a plain old, nothing fancy, toothbrush. Others need something more to help them, be it a small head, so it is easier to reach all the teeth, or an electric toothbrush to help because of dexterity problems. I like the Sonicare because, I feel, it does more than a regular toothbrush can. It works great for people with gum problems but also makes the ordinary persons mouth fell extra clean!
Toothpaste is completely up to the individuals preference. Anything with Fluoride is good. If you have special issues, such as sensitivity or a lot of tartar build up, there are specific toothpastes for that, but otherwise it comes down to what you like the taste of! There are PLENTY to choose from!

Oral-b is the best brand period, medium softness bristles is recommended and you have to remember to change toothbrushes or the head of your toothbrush every month(provided you brush twice or more daily), or more often after an illness(once you are over a cold so you don't make yourself sick all over again), Aquafresh tastes nice, but I'm a "crest kid", cavity free at 22.

Back in the old days, the dentists were also barbers. Prior to the invention of the toothbrush, people would chew on twigs with antimicrobial properties. It wasn't as effective at removing plaque as toothbrushes are, but they did combat bad breath. Salt and baking soda got the job done too. The original toothbrush was composed of ox bones and horsetail hair. Yuck.

We like colgate Total Advanced Fresh Gel and right now I have the Oral-B sensitive toothbrush. Not a pulsar, fancy! But it works, and doesn't make my gums bleed.

The best advise i can give is to always cover the brush in a container because the germs that it accumulates is so disgusting you will never use the brush again. Oral B is the bomb but cover the bristles.

Camelia tooth paste. It doesn't contain chloride which is proven to cause cancer. Toothbrush any type will do, just brush thru out and long enough. Thanks and have a nice day.
