One day you will be in your 40's or 50's and then you might see it differently. If someone wants to feel better about themselves, and wants to look and feel good for their age, there is absolutley nothing wrong with this. They are not trying to recapture their lost youth, they are are just trying to make the most of their appearance and when cosmetic surgery is done well it can look very natural and give a very youthful appearance. Also 40's and 50's is not old these days, my parents are in their 50's and they have more fun than most 20 somethings I know! Maybe when you reach your's 40's and you realise the pressure on women to stay looking young, you might understand why so many people succumb to plastic surgery to look younger. It's the same as teenagers being pressurized to be thin....blame the media and blame society, don't blame the people getting surgery, they just want to feel good about themselves again and I have seem some fantastic results, where women look 10-20 years younger. If it makes them feel and look better, why would you want to stand in the way of someone's happiness? My biggest peeve is judgemental people who have nothing better to do than nit pick on other people because their own lives are lacking!

My biggest pet peeve is little brats with ugly personalities who think they know it all. Every time I see a trashy young "lady" acting like she is superior because she thinks youth and too much make up are all she needs in life I want to smack them for being so ignorant.
I really want to grab them by the shoulders & shake them and tell them not to be so arrogant, they have a lot to learn.

You are evidently a teenager who has not had to deal with the difficulties that aging brings upon a person... There is a point when too much plastic surgery becomes a problem, but lets give people a little bit of slack here. We all like to look our best.

Well. I am 40 and I don't need plastic surgery or would ever want to..I think it is a waste of time also, and money. But to those of you who feel like someone needs to be shot by the time they reach 40, how would you feel if your parents were killed because they aged? HMMM? Think about it!!

I think if people want to spend their money on their looks then why should it bother you? My mum's always wanted a face lift and I think she should totally do it, she's 65 and wasted all her youth on my dad, she deserves a new look and a confidence boost. I'd have ear surgery for my wingnuts in a heartbeat or lipo for my saddlebags, I'm 32, what's the difference?

Hey, whoa, wait a minute. Before you judge your elders remember that they experience the same pressure that a 17 year old faces when it comes to our society's way of 'looking good' and what lengths people have to go to in order to get there.
Don't judge them. If you're that concerned then lobby against the industry that tells them they really don't look good unless they get this or that done to them.
And I hope you remember this comment when you're 40.

And you are how old?
You will be that age some day. I challenge you to print your question and these answers and keep them on you or in a safe place until you are in your 40s and 50s. Then, you will see how foolish your statement truly is.
