I know I should test it on my arm, but I don't know what it should feel like on my arm.

put it in a bowl of warm water, it cant overheat that way.

Edited to add: DO NOT microwave it..
Microwaving breastmilk, or heating it on the stove, can cause a loss of Vitamin C content, along with loss of some of the milk's special anti-infective properties. The higher the temperature, the more pronounced the effect.

NEVER microwave breastmilk. It can change the composition of the milk and kill off some of the good stuff in the milk! It can also cause "hot spots" which could burn the baby.

My hubby used to microwave a coffee cup or bowl full of water and then float the bottle in that for a while until it felt warm.

He also discovered that my son didn't always care if he warmed it up or not. As long as he "took the chill off" of it, he would drink it. (Think about how hot it is outside right now, for example. Cooler is better sometimes!)

They make a bottle warmer that heats up water and it only takes 1 minute. Or run a crock pot with water in it all day and warm the bottle when you are about to use it.

The milk should bot be hot when you test it on your arm. It should be warm but definately not scolding hot. Test it right at the wrist because you are sensitive there.

Good Luck!

Most of the baby stores sell plug-in bottle warmers, they are great. They will give you a guide on how long to put the bottle in, based on how much milk is in it. When you are testing the milk, just make sure it is warm, but not hot. Put a drop or two on the inside of your wrist. If it is warm, it should be good to go.

Whatever you do... DO NOT PUT IT IN THE MICROWAVE!!! This creates "hot spots" in the milk, and damages some of the nourishing protiens in the milk. Place in in a container of warm tap water for about 15 minutes. If you drip some on the inside of your forearm, you shouldn't feel anything, not cold not hot.

test it on your wrist. If it burns you then it's too hot, but if its just warm, then it will be alright. You could get a baby bottle warmer at wal-mart, they are only like 3 dollars and it takes about 3 minutes for the bottle to warm up. I used one myself and it was never to hot.

NEVER microwave it--it changes the breastmilk, and essentially destroys the nutrients in it. always warm it under warm running water.

DO NOT MICROWAVE IT!!!! A bowl of warm water, and the way it should feel on your WRIST(the side w/ the veins) is slightly warm, if it feels hot then it's too hot, just warm.

You should stick it in a bowl of warm water because if you boil it or stick it in the microwave it overheats and loses some of the nutrients in it.

NEVER boil it or microwave it. that will get it to hot and boil out the nutrients. get a bowl of hot water, let it sit in it until its warm to the touch on the inside of your wrist. however it feels on your wrist, thats how it will feel on your babys throat.
