I have always heard salesmen say how much more useful published encyclopedias are, yet free online encyclopedias like Wikipedia seem so complete. Is the investment worth it?

Pros: Online encyclopedias are free, and constantly updated, so you can always get the most current information. Also, they don't take up an entire bookshelf in your house. And you'll never have to dispose of outdated books.

Cons: Anyone can post anything they like, whether or not it's the actual truth, so there could be some misinformation. Sites like Wikipedia have teams of people who edit and verify the information, but there's still plenty of bad info out there, so use with caution.
