StartupCPL by Mike Lin is a great control panel app for control what programs run on start up

If you have shortcuts on the left side of your taskbar by the start menu, just right click on the icon you want to remove and select delete.

Msconfig is not available on Windows 2000. Only on 98/ME and XP.
With Windows 2000 you have to edit the registry to remove items from the system tray.

If you want instructions, e-mail me and will send them. But you need to have some experience and understanding of the registry before trying it. If done wrong, it can keep the computer from booting.
