Of course. Regardless of how you raise them; Aggressiveness comes naturally to them. They are very overprotective of their surrounds and are very territorial. Be careful.

Pit Bulls no matter how hard you train them will always have that fighter in their blood. They were originally bred to fight, and have been bred that way for years. Some pit bulls will be good with children but they can still turn on you. I had one and she was ok until one day my best friend was over playing xbox and went to go get a drink and hes was petting her then all of a sudden she jumped on him and tackled to the floor. We had to get him stitches. Many Pit Bulls have been known to bite and attack. My Suggestion is look around first see if their are any other dogs that you like or want, before you go and get a Pit Bull.

It is not in their nature to be mean. The American staffordshire terrier, what some really dumb people call a pit bull, were once called the nanny dog. The Frist dog to be given a medal of honor by the army was SGT. Stubby a pit bull mix. People like Michael J. Fox, AliciaSilverstone, JON Stewart owns them and two president,Wilson and T Roosevelt owned them while in office. Helen Keller used one to help her. They are not a dog for everyone. They can be hard to train, you must let them know you are the boss. They can get big, mine is 95LB. But the work is worth it they are loving loyal and loves kids. To believe the media they are tearing people apart every day. It is the cocker spaniel that bites more than any other breed.

Some can be mean and other can be nice. Well it depends on there type of owners. If the owner taught the pit to fight. Then well the pit is going to be mean. Also, sometimes it come natural for some pits. Also, the the dog could be sometime. Be nice the first day and be mean the next.

Pit bulls can be unpredictable @ times. There is no bad dog, but difficult owners. You need to research the including breed including temperament, potential size, health problems & decide if the dog will be appropriate for you and potentially your family. I would suggest in the event you do acquire a pit bull or any other breed for that matter, enter the dog & yourself in obedience/training coursed. You will will have your hands full, so be prepared.

Yes they are very aggressive and dangerous. They can turn on you in a split second. Ontario, Canada has legally banned pit bulls. All pit bulls that are alive have to be spade or neutered, all pit buls have to be muzzled. There have been too many dog attacked by this breed including my King Charles Spaniel which was killed while I had it on a leash right beside me.

Some can be nice; some mean - but that is with any breed. My sister has a wonderful pit girl. Genetics and environment shape temperament. Try a pit rescue - a lot of the time an animal shelter or a rescue has temperament tested their dogs. Link to adoption info.

I have a wonderful pit bull. These are high energy dogs and require a lot of attention. They are not naturally aggressive towards humans, but are against other animals, if not trained properly. You should definitely read up on the breed before getting one. Here's a good place to start:

I know I will get slack for this but as long as you research the breeder and the breed itself you should be fine. I have two pit bulls and they are remarkable. One is used as a therapy dog, the other is just too old to "work" now. The unfortunately have a bad rap because of irresponsible people breeding them and raising them. I have two small children who dress up the dogs, sit on them pull on them, and everything else kids do to dogs and the dogs are fine. Just be responsible about pet ownership and you will be fine.

Had a sweet girl pit for a long time and she was good to everyone. Had a friend with a standard Poodle that even he couldn't trust. If you raise them right, a pit will be the best dog you ever had.

They aren't all bad. Most dogs aren't dangerous unless they have a dangerous owner. Ya know what they say, there aren't bad dogs, just bad owners. Read up on the breed thoroughly before making a final decision. If you do decide, do your research, buy from a reputable breeder, take them to obedience class, and socialize them. Just like other "aggressive" type breeds, they do have an aggressive tendency and need to be brought up right.
