It's been happening for over a week now and it's getting worse. At the beginning she was having one accident a day. Now it's up to 3-5 accidents a day. She doesn't complain of any aches or pains. She knows when she has to go. It is very frustrating. I'm all out of ideas. Any advice?

From what I have seen and read this usually happens for a few reasons, is there something new in her life? any changes? sometimes it is because the child is upset about something, I would talk to your daughter's doctor about it also if there hasn't been any new changes because there could also be a medical reason behind it; she may have an overactive bladder. Good luck I hope that you find the answer, and just a suggestion be calm with her because if it is medical she may have no control over it.

My child did the same thing. Do not fret over that. I asked my pediatrician when it happened and he said it was normal that sometimes they would revert. Mine did for a while I believe he was fully potty trained by 3 1/2. Now please expect accidents once in a while. Sometimes kids don't want to interrupt play time to go potty so they wet their pants. Sometimes they'll wet their beds. Try not to make a big deal out of it.

You need to take this seriously. I don't know the cause, but I want to tell you that this is unusual, and I wouldn't listen to anyone, pediatrician, or any other "expert" who says otherwise. Children do regress and start wetting their pants sometimes, but there's always a reason, and you as the parent are in the best position to figure out what that reason is.

Little boys will often "take a leak" real quick in the yard or something because they don't want to stop playing. But little girls? Wetting their pants? Some stressor is causing this. Good luck to you in finding and remedying the cause.

has anything changed in the household or at daycare, etc.? Sometimes they do it for the attention. You also might check with her doctor, she might have a urinary tract infection or some other medical cause. People don't always have sypmtoms when they have a bladder infection or UTI. Or, she simply may be having too good of a time playing and does not want to take the time to go to the bathroom. You might try reminding her once an hour, etc. Good luck!!

I would question what is going on in her life. Usually major changes such as a baby brother or sister, perhaps a new family member, evena new pet can make the child revert. Don't get angry, this is the subconscious of teh child wanting to be a 'baby' again. Simply treat her as you would normall, and begin the potty training again from square one, with the same amount of love as before.

Any change in routine? New classroom at day care?, moved? new baby? new bed (i.e., no more crib)? urinary tract infection? If not medical, then I would bet it's a change in routine, even if it seems insignificant to you. I would suggest trying a sticker chart for using the potty for a while. She may just need a little poisitive reinforcement to get over the hump. Do what you did when she was not fully trained yet. Good luck!

attention. Seems like she is attention craved. Try playing a game like giving her some sort of reward by using the potty. or keep a poster to put stickers up and when she fills a week up with stickers than she can have something special

This is something that needs to be look in to, is she in daycare? Is there something going on there that's upsetting her? Talk to her, kids will wet themselves if there scared, or something bad has happened to them. With some of the things that has gone on in day cares lately I would ask questions and reassure her she can tell you anything. Good Luck

another child, sexual abuse, emotional upset at home(mommy and daddy fighting A LOT or split up), a death of a close family member or friend, starting preschool or a new daycare. Take your pick. When my husband and I were having a lot of fights and we weren't getting along, our wet the bed once, we knew why and started working things out, he hasn't had a problem since.

Usually stress is the problem. Has there been a significant family event lately? Is there any possibility of sexual or physical abuse? Are you pregnant? Usually helping the child deal with the stressor solves the problem.
