Blood stains are hard to get out, and it seems silly to just throw out a shirt, blouse, pants or a skirt with only a small blood stain in same. Any solutions out there?

If the garment is at all washable, soak the spot with blood on it in cold water as soon as you can. Most will come out with only that, and more will come out the fresher the stain is. Sometimes water is all that is needed.

When it doesn't all come out, I have had very good luck spritzing on a little Simple Green, full strength, and letting it set for 10 to 15 minutes, then scrubbing the spot out with a gentle dishwashing liquid.

If the garment is only dry cleanable, it's best to take it to a reputable dry cleaning establishment, and point out the blood stain to them. They will definitely be able to remove it, but they'll likely miss it altogether if you forget to show them where it is, and tell them it is blood, as opposed to something else.

Hydrogen Peroxide works best because of the it reacts the catalase in the blood (human enzyme). The foaming is produced by the catalase breaking down the H2O2 to H2O and thereby it will bring the blood stain out.

In England it is very common knowledge that if you soak a garment with a blood stain on it in cold salty water, this will get rid of the stain.

Spray and wash. It always works. Ironically it know comes in little towelettes in little packets whaich you can put in your pocket or your purse. I am a bit of a klutz, so I carry one with me all the time. The sooner I am able to get to the stain, the better chance I have that it won't stain. Also, check your washer lid's inside. Most of the washers have ideas within the lid.

If you don't bleed too much, cold water and a mild soap can help get the stain out.

Wouldn't peroxide damage the garment? Try cold water, should work if it hasn't been more than a day or so.

Straight hydrogen peroxide has always worked for me, and no...it doesn't affect the colors or hurt the fabrics.
