I am deciding between the Canon powershot series. Can your description be long and why I should get that camera. I want some advanced features and scene modes. Please if you have the Canon Powershot (Sd456,Sd500,Sd550,Sd600) tell me which is best, thanks in advance.

Canon is always a quality brand that I would recommend. Your best bet would be to check out various camera websites so you can read in-depth reviews and also read feedback from people who own these cameras.
There are several great Powershot models available. I would probably go for a newer model and one that is at least 6MP.
I have included some of my favourite websites...
Good Luck

My sister has a Canon Powershot, and she loves it. The only thing she doesn't like isn't really a bad thing, she doedn't love the number of megapixels, but that's simply because her camera is probably about a year and a half old.

I have a newer Sony camera, and my sister was at first jealous because mine has more megapixels, but she later realized that hers has a lot of cool features that mine doesn't have. The menus are also much easier to use.

The Powershot is good for serious, artistic photography.

I also know my sister likes the size of hers because the big grip allows her to hold it steady, and the fact that it takes four batteries as opposed to two allows it to have a longer battery life.

So I'd reccomend doing a lot of research, but I know that the Canon Powershots are very good cameras.

i have a nikon and my sis have a canon..at first she was so like "mine's the best" because people keep wanting to check it out...to me...people love canon because of the outer beauty...after we campared both the picture quality of the nikon n canon...she was shocked and wish that she had never bought it...the specification of both my nikon coolpix 5100 and her canon(i can't remember what the model name in the US but in Malaysia it's IXUS50) are the same...then she found out that digital zoom of a camera is the one responsible of the picture quality...it's not just about the megapixel.
after that..she concluded that nikon's digital zoom is super good...before i bought my nikon..one guy told me that nikon is famous for it's sharpness(did i spell that right?)...i even checked out pictures taken with a sony 4 megapixel camera and it stinks...the quality of the pic is like it was taken with a VGA camera...so what i'm trying to say here is...nikon will definitely satisfy you...even though i have one already...i'm really interested with the nikon P3...you might want to check it out or any other nikon cameras before getting one of those canons...p/s: even olympus's picture quality is better than canon's..
so my ranking for cameras would be:
1nikon
2olympus
3canon
4konika minolta
5sony
