myelocytes (mi'-el-o-sits) [Greek. myelos, marrow; kytos, cell] Bone marrow cells from which leucocytes (the white corpuscles of the blood. In the blood stream they are spherical, colourless, nucleated masses, and some are motile and phagocytic) develop. Present in the blood in some pathological condtions, e.g., leukaemia.
